“The content was clear and easy to follow. The practice exams ensured that I was competent and able t complete the final exam wth ease. Despite the relatively basic and older style learning resources everything was very useful. I would highly recommend using HSQE as your provider for the IOSH Managing Safley course as I managed to complete everything in around 9-10 hours with ease.”

Many thanks for the feedback and recommendation Elliott. That certainly was quick to complete the course! Just a quick point about the learning resources, we've incorporated a variety of things, such as slideshows, quizzes, downloadable exercises etc. The problem with using other media, such as animations, videos etc. is that we've found they do not always work as expected on the full range of devices (eg smart phone to desktop PC) and relative strengths of internet connection that our users have. We do test different approaches regularly and we incorporate them where they prove to be sufficiently reliable. Great feedback though. Have a good weekend!

“Easy slides to follow, good examples and mini tests. The moc tests were helpful towards the final exam and the end project was helpful for future experience.”

“As this was a course you had to do online it was something that I would keep putting off. so the time you had to complete it in ended up the last 4-5 weeks before the time was out. I think there should be an email sent out on a regular basis to try and motivate you into getting on and completing the course or a least prompting you that the count down has begun and you have so many days left to complete. when I started though I did enjoy doing the work.”

Many thanks Simon. This is a tough one for us. For every person that needs a bit of motivation and welcomes a gentle reminder, there is a person (or two) that takes exception to it! The current setup is that after sending out the initial welcome emails, we wait for the student to contact us if they have any questions. If we do not hear anything, we send a reminder 4-6 weeks before the course is due to end. Given your feedback, we are going to run a trial where we send out a communication between the welcome and the 4-6 week warning. If it goes well, we will extend it both in terms of coverage and frequency. Thanks again!

“The course was well constructed. The one complaint I have is that a few of the assessment test questions were ambiguous. Otherwise the course was very instructive”

Many thanks for the feedback Neil. Just for clarity, we've assessed your project and your exam result and subsequently recommended you for a pass to IOSH. What happens next is IOSH will issue the course certificate. As we are in the period between Christmas and the New Year, IOSH will print it and send it out when they return to work in the New Year. Thanks for your feedback. That's an interesting one. In addition to the cost savings, most of our customers go for studying IOSH Managing Safely online because it gives them the flexibility to study at a time that suites them in between their other commitments, rather than having to sit in a classroom for 4 days.
