“They came to do a job that really didn’t need doing to remove a few twigs from round a over head power cable when I say twigs I mean twigs no bigger than 10 mm in diameter the tree is a on going project for the last 4 years due to be done again in January now have a big chunk cut out of my tree totally ruined the shape of it 4 years of tree surgery wasted complete numpties”

National Grid operates a proactive vegetation management programme designed to ensure that trees do not pose a risk to the overhead network. Where necessary, more extensive clearance is undertaken to enhance the resilience of the infrastructure. Routine maintenance is essential to uphold safety standards and reduce the likelihood of trees interfering with power lines, particularly during adverse weather conditions. All utility pruning works are carried out with the prior consent of the relevant landowners or tree owners. These works are subsequently audited both internally and by our client, National Grid, to ensure that appropriate clearance has been achieved without compromising the amenity value of the trees.
