About Hetty's Herbs & Plants:

We are a family owned and run online business based in the flat Lincolnshire Fens. Selling a wide selection of potted herbs and plants all year round. Our plants are all grown locally and are all individually hand selected by us for your order so that great care is taken to send out the best quality plants. All orders are picked within 24 hours of being dispatched, carefully packaged by hand and sent via a 24 delivery service to ensure that your plants are fresh on delivery to you. “Very young plants and unfortunately didn’t find the variety to be interesting.”

“Whilst I have always been and continue to be impressed with the range and quality of herbs on your website the recent increase to the delivery charges means I am unlikely to place further orders in the future.”

Hi Jan, thank you for your feedback. That's great to hear that you are impressed with the range and quality of our herbs. Unfortunately, we have needed to review our delivery charges and I am sorry to hear this means you are unlikely to order from us in the future. Whilst our delivery charges have increased for the very smallest orders, for some the charge is less. For example orders over £30 the delivery fee is now £5 rather than £6 and free delivery is now available for all orders over £50 rather than previously £100. I hope we will see you shop again with us at Hetty's.

“Plants were fine, but not as large or healthy as previous order”

“Most of the plants were in good condition and are thriving now, but the purple basil and thai basil plants were rather puny and unfortunately shrivelled up within a week of repotting them. (I followed all the instructions). I have since bought some thai basil from elsewhere and it is doing just fine. I like the eco-packaging that this company uses.”

Hi Michelle, sorry to hear that your purple and thai basil plants didn't do well for you, we've had a look and can't see any correspondence from you. If you weren't happy with your plants on arrival we always encourage customers to get in touch at the time so that we can help to resolve it. Basil can be temperamental, especially in the cooler early season and we are always happy to help with advice if customers ask. “The plants are strong and healthy. Unfortunately the courier tried to deliver them to the wrong address.”

“The plants were absolutely fine but despite sending me a 1 hour window in which they would call (and I was waiting the whe time) the courier made no attempt to deliver the parcel and just left it at the post office. They also sent me insufficient information to collect the parcel, causing a lot of bother.”

“Very nice. My only comment is that the minimum order price is high. I would be more regular if it were lower.”

“Plants are healthy, but several of 9cm pot plants seem to be much smaller plugs which have been recently repotted into the larger container. This was evident from the underdeveloped rootball and the loss of a lot of the compost in the pots in transit, which would usually have more purchase within the pot had it grown into it.”

Hi Chris, sorry you felt that our delivery times are long winded. As we operate a once per week delivery cycle we do update the next dispatch date on all of our product pages as well as the delivery page so that customers are aware of when they can expect their plants. We try to keep our customers updated without sending too many e-mails, I'm sorry that we did not meet your expectations on this.

“I’m not sure that I got the plants that I ordered. I am concerned that they do not look like evening primrose plants. They are not tall with little yellow flowers. They are a clump of green slender leaves. I thought I was getting tall spire like yellow flowers, these plants have got wider growth but no tall yellow flowers at all. I’m not sure what they are. To be fair to Hetty’s herbs they are growing well ..just not into evening primroses.”

“Last time I ve bought Strawberry Alpine - 6 x 1 Litre Potted Plants. Unfortunately, They came with ants. I threw their pots away. The others plants were good.”

We don't find much gets past our packers as each plant is individually wrapped. Sorry to hear ants were able to evade our scrutiny and became stowaways.

I'm sorry to hear your plants didn't arrive when you expected them to. Whilst we send all orders out using a 24 hour service unfortunately on occasion it can take longer. We have tried to let customers know this in advance by noting on each product page, in the terms and conditions and emails sent to customers after placing an order.
