Some of the trainers are exceptionally good with high standards of training, others less so. Some of the trainers (Tony & Phillip) are very friendly and helpful and encouraging, others to be honest leave a lot to be desired. Whether you are paying customer or receiving funded training, health and safety training Ltd instructors would do well to remember that everyone is a client and without such clients the company would not be in existence. Also, as so much emphasis is put on health and safety such as wearing a high visibility vest in the Training area, to see a member of the Office staff (who I believe is the owner's wife) walkthrough the middle Training area, whilst machines were in operation, without a high visibility vest. Makes a mockery of the H&S, preached to clients. Overall training with health and safety limited is a double edged sword it's a 50/50 chance as to whether you'll get good tuition from a good instructor or tuition from instructor with no customer service, who doesn't actually teach you anything (Practical skills) and generally makes you feel very uncomfortable, throughout the practical training &A test. You pay your money, you take your chances as to who you'll get. On a final note, most of the reviews written here are done by client's whilst on a course with someone watching over them, so of course they are unlikely to write an honest & frank review.

Thank you for the very detailed observations of your time spent training at HST Ltd, we always try to ensure all of our learners leave us with a positive experience and we will look into each of your concerns individually (as outlined below) to try and discover why you had a less than satisfactory experience and to help ensure this does not happen again. We are always very pleased to hear that our instructors have left a good impression, but on this occasion we’re very disappointed to hear that others have not. We are very interested as to how many training courses you have completed with us and how many different instructors you have completed training with? It would be unusual for you to have had experience with all 14 of our instructors, so if you could get in touch and let us know which instructors you’ve had personal experience of training with, we can look into this further. All of our customers are as valuable as each other and as such we would expect all of our staff to treat all of our learners exactly the same at all times. We provide training and support to people from all parts of the local community and whether the learner is referred to us from their local Jobcentre or has referred themselves from a multinational company or small local business, are self-employed or are a private individual, we aim to give every one of our customers the same level attention, care and respect at all times. If this was not the case during your experience with us then we would be keen to hear from you again to find out exactly how we have let you down so we can ensure this situation does not occur again, and to see if we can help you again in any way. We work with over 1200 local and national businesses and around 500 Jobcentre clients each year so we have to assume we are doing something right, but we stress once again, please let know exactly why you are unhappy and we will be more than happy to investigate and, if possible resolve this issue for you. As you rightly point out great emphasis is placed on health & safety and we try to embed this throughout the culture of the organisation at all times. It would be very unusual for any of the office staff to need to be in the middle training area at any time and we would certainly not expect any staff member, no matter who they may be to be, in any training area without suitable personal protective equipment as this directly contravenes our health & safety policy. We do take this matter very seriously and we have a very comprehensive CCTV system which was specifically installed with accident prevention and investigation in mind. So again, if you could contact us and possibly be more precise as to when and where you saw this incident occur we can identify the person and take appropriate disciplinary action should this be required. As with your earlier points, if you can contact us and be more precise as to which instructors you've had such a negative experience with, we will be glad to investigate your concerns properly and try to rectify these issues. We are particularly concerned that you were made to feel very ‘uncomfortable’ during a practical and theory test, that should never be the case. Our job is to make all learners feel as comfortable and confident as possible in order to be able to operate competently and safely. In addition to their relevant instructional and machine specific qualifications, all of our instructors have training and qualifications in teaching and learner assessment. We have a dedicated Quality Assurance Team and the Quality Manager and her team have regular documented standardisation meetings with all instructors and carry out both planned and unplanned assessment reviews with our teaching staff on a regular basis. External verification visits are carried out by all of our eight awarding bodies and we are, of course, inspected by Ofsted as an approved Skills Funding Agency government training provider. During our last inspection, we obtained a "Good" provider rating. We have invested a large amount of time and money in ensuring we get things right and we give all of our staff the necessary tools to help all of our learners gain a positive experience with us. We are judged on whether we get this right, not only by our own internal measures, but by many, varied outside organisations. We take this very seriously, and so do the organisations we work alongside, so if our staff have left you personally in a position where you feel the need to post a less than satisfactory, anonymous review of your experience with us, then please get in contact with us again and help us change this to a positive. All learners are encouraged to write a review of their experiences with us whether it be good, bad or indifferent and all are left on the website for anyone to see, just as your own review has been. It’s very true that we like learners to submit their review as soon as they have completed their training with us and while their experience is still fresh. Not only that, it means we can gather as much feedback as possible from our learners so we can continue to develop our courses and services. That said, nobody has to submit a review with a member of HST Ltd staff standing over them. All reviews can be posted anonymously and we encourage all learners to share their honest opinions.
