“package hasn't even left the UK and they lied about there being no duties at customs for books: the books were declared generically as "documents" without any papers backing it, making me choose between returning the package or shelling out even more money. I need those books, but I'm never shopping here again.”

Hello Your review makes no sense. How can you say the 'package has not left the UK', yet then go on to complain about your country's import fees?? That could not happen if they did not leave the UK There is no VAT on books in the UK, so when you order from us and you are outside the UK, the prices will not be reduced by the 20% VAT amount. Here is the confirmation books are VAT free in the UK - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/zero-rating-books-and-printed-matter-for-vat-notice-70110 Import duty differs in lots of countries around the world, which we make clear when you order. (https://gayprideshop.co.uk/pages/delivery-to-the-eu) You parcel also had a CN22 form attached to the outside, declaring the contents.
