The Event Academy provided an exceptional learning experience from enrolment through to completion. The program offered excellent value for money, with high-quality content, practical assignments, and constructive feedback that could be applied directly to real-world event management. What made me happiest was the level of support and encouragement provided by Clare Lawrence - Online Course Director. The knowledge, confidence, and professional growth I gained from the program exceeds my expectation. I would highly recommend The Event Academy to anyone looking to advance their career in events and gain practical, industry-relevant skills.

I would 100% recommend The Event Academy to anyone looking to break into the events industry, just like I was. I recently completed the Intensive Diploma as my first step towards a career in events and although the three weeks were intense (which was definitely to be expected!), I genuinely loved every second of it. I've always had a passion for events but I was relatively new to the industry when I started. I'm leaving the course feeling like I've gained a huge amount of knowledge and confidence, and while I'm sure there's still plenty to learn once I start working, I now feel equipped with a really solid foundation. The lecturers were fantastic and delivered engaging sessions throughout. One of the things I appreciated most was that no question ever felt too obvious or silly. There was always space for discussion, conversation and curiosity, which created such a supportive learning environment. It was also amazing to be surrounded by people who shared the same passion for events. I've definitely made some friends for life along the way. Being taught in different venues across London was another highlight and made the experience even more interesting and immersive. My favourite part of the course was the client project. It was hard work and definitely pushed us, but seeing the final results made it all worthwhile. The support from the faculty throughout the programme was outstanding, and the course itself was incredibly well-structured and organised from start to finish. Overall, it's been an amazing experience that has confirmed I made the right decision to pursue a career in events. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Now onto getting a job in the events industry!

Highly respected qualifications and exceptional support! If you are considering a career in events, I highly encourage you to enrol at the Event Academy. Their courses offer highly respected industry and academic qualifications that give you the perfect launchpad for a successful career. They don't just teach you the essentials; they truly set you up for long-term success. The exceptional support you receive lasts a lifetime. I graduated all the way back in 2013, yet over a decade later, the Student Services team stepped up to help me secure my next career move. Assisting alumni with job placement isn't their official job description, but they took it on with amazing enthusiasm and professional care. They tapped into their deep industry network and expertise, introducing me to the fantastic company that is now my new employer. The fact that the Event Academy still champions its graduates after all these years—even though they are not a recruitment agency—proves how deeply they care about their community. I cannot praise them enough!

I genuinely had such an amazing experience on this course. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed by both the lecturers and the other students, and it created such a positive and inspiring environment to learn in. Meeting so many passionate, friendly, and supportive people made the experience even more special. The lectures were incredibly informative, engaging, and delivered in a way that made me feel motivated and excited to learn more. You could really tell how much the lecturers cared, and their encouragement was truly inspiring. Overall, I left feeling really moved by the atmosphere and grateful to have been part of such a supportive and uplifting community.

I completed my course virtually as part of a work experience internship program, alongside a group of students all working on the same event for the same governing body, a company that hired EA to deliver the education portion of our internship. I understand and caveat that my course delivery may have been slightly different than other EA students who would have signed up as individuals, and taken that course with a variety of other students. Everyone in our internship program, and thus on this course, were working on a specific event in a specific sport, the governing body of which hired the Event Academy directly. Despite this, the lecturer had done zero base level research to understand what we were doing, when or where it was happening, or who their client was/what their client did, much less made any effort to link any course material to our work experience. It was particularly disconcerting considering how much of an emphasis the course modules place on understanding a client brief, and how important it is to prepare and do one's research; I don't expect a custom course, but I do expect those delivering it to have a base level understanding of their client, to have done at least a preliminary search query on that client and the project they have been hired for, and for those delivering the course to be organized, speak to each other and ensure that they are following a schedule and delivering modules efficiently. The modules themselves were understandable and largely applicable, if a bit too basic for the student level and experience (again, something that probably could have been addressed earlier through client research and achieving brief clarity), but the lecturer delivering the course was disorganized and repetitive in their delivery of them, often going off topic, repeating either themselves or another lecturer, re-covering similar or same content, giving examples and anecdotes that seemed out of touch, and ran over time frequently and significantly. There was, however, one previous student as a guest speaker on one delivery day that offered value, and she had clearly prepared and thought through her deliverables. My peers and I often discussed the course when completing our work experience, and reports of frustration and a lack of value were consistent; in fact, several stopped attending the course and did not complete it, citing a lack of value and it feeling not worth their time, which is particularly relevant when you consider that we were not paying for the course ourselves, and actually getting paid to attend it. The final assignment was creative in concept, but was also a presentation that no professional would ever make to a client or to an internal team, and while the topics we could choose from were industry relevant and interesting to research, no course material overlapped in content or research mechanism or guidelines, meaning our final project did not test learnings or skillsets from the course itself, nor did it allow us to practice a pitch or presentation that would be applicable in the workplace. Additionally, the grading mechanism for the project, and thus the course itself, were unclear and subjective; many of my peers commented that the lecturer appeared to have favorites. I unfortunately could not say I recommend my course.

Hi SE Thank you for giving us your feedback on the bespoke course we put together for you and the other interns in August last year. We always take all feedback seriously and have taken the time to speak to the client to discuss your concerns. The feedback we received from the client and other interns in public LinkedIn posts at the time was positive so we were surprised to read your review. In answer to your points on how we put the course together, we received a brief to create an entry-level course on Event Management as a whole, not just focused on the client's industry, to be presented as an optional course for the interns. Each of the Lectures was signed off before the course launched, and our Course Tutor researched the industry and the client to deliver the course effectively. This course differed significantly from our in-house courses in both content and attendees. For each in-house Event Academy course, our team vets the student intake to ensure their abilities match the course level. That is not the case with bespoke courses designed around a client brief, where the client selects the attendees directly. We agree that the range of student ability on your course was very broad and some interns found the entry-level course less challenging than others. Having spoken to some of the lecturers on the course, they remember you engaging with the lecturers with ideas and enthusiasm. Regarding the course content, after reviewing the lecture slides, it was evident that several lecturers incorporated references to the client’s industry, with two lecturers developing bespoke exercises specifically tailored to it. The final project was created to hone a key event management skill - the ability to present your ideas succinctly and effectively to a client - and the Course Tutor explained the marking system clearly. While no company wishes to receive a negative review, we always take away valuable lessons on how we can improve and continue to deliver outstanding event management courses to our global students and corporate clients. Our Principal, Claire Derrick, has reached out to you directly via email. If you’re open to it, we’d like to discuss your experience directly so we can address specific issues and determine what support could help.

I completed the Event Management Online Diploma with The Event Academy and found it extremely valuable, especially alongside a busy working schedule. The course content is well structured, easy to follow and clearly written by people with real industry experience, not just theory. What I particularly liked was how practical the modules were, covering everything from event planning and logistics through to budgeting, marketing and client management. The flexibility of studying online was a huge plus, allowing me to work through the course at my own pace. Support was responsive and constructive. I’d highly recommend The Event Academy to anyone looking to start a career in events or to formalise and strengthen existing experience.

Being a part of the OG Covid PG Dip cohort in Feb 2020 (Graduated Sept 2020), meant we were left with very little hope if and when live events would return, and having to turn to solely virtual for our final "Live" piece. I eventually left this career and did not to expect to make a return to it. Well, I kept my foot in the door, just in a slightly different role of now assisting in providing medical cover. Which to my cohort would be no surprise after my "muddy shoes equal a muddy mood" speech, to those that remember. Fast forward to 6 years on, and clearly everything I learnt has paid off as I have delivered by biggest event yet and the most events I have done in a long time. I have assisted in the delivery of around 15 CPD Sessions focused around pre-hospital emergency care, and helped to bring back Bournemouth Universities Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Conference 2026, alongside pre-hospital professionals such as Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, DocBike, and SCAS BASICS. We had an overall rating of 4.88* for the events success from 75% of our attendees, and 100% of our attendees stated they would love to see PHEC CON 2027. So, if I can still keep and retain the information to me six years on, and still able to write leave behind documents, they have clearly done a good job. No muddy moods here - that's for sure.

The Event Academy is brilliant! I studied the online Post Graduate Diploma in 2018/2019 whilst living overseas and I can't tell you how much I learnt during that time. It was truly amazing learning from fabulous tutors, so many resources to hook into, support from other students on the course and ongoing support even after finishing. Fast forward all those years and I still refer to my course notes - I have two notebooks, full of scribble, diagrams, highlights and post its and whilst they are in a cupboard under my desk, I probably look at them once a month. It was so worth the investment! 110% recommend the course.

Attending The Event Academy was a turning point for my career. The Postgraduate Degree in Event Management, Marketing and Communications was an amazing experience; the curriculum is so well-structured, blending deep industry insights with the practical, hands-on skills you actually need in the field. The tutors are incredible industry experts who bring the material to life, and having such a hands-on, supportive Principal made the entire learning journey feel both inspiring and world-class. As an alum, I’ve realised that you don’t just leave with a qualification; you leave with a lifelong support system. The team genuinely invests in your success, offering guidance and industry connections long after graduation. Knowing that they are still in my corner as I navigate the industry has been invaluable. If you want an Academy that supports your ambition from day one and stays with you as you grow, this is exactly where you need to be.

I graduated from The Event Academy in 2014 and it was absolutely the right decision for me. I not only learned the essential foundations of delivering different types of events, but also the marketing basics that support them. My journey in the industry started with a student placement and from there it was a straight and steady career path. I strongly recommend this course — not only for its well-designed programme, but especially for the amazing, passionate teachers who always gave 100% and generously shared their experience and the tricks that help you overcome every kind of challenge.
