I have been using John Delany Motors for well over twenty five years and during that time they have always done a top class job on my various vehicles. The first time I used them, they were recommended to me by a workmate who had used them for quite a long time,when they rebuilt my Mitsubishi Galant's engine,because another garage had done a bodged repair. John Delany and his team are the best and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone !

Citroen Dispatch van was repaired, replacing all the 4 injectors, but the problem was before those at the high pressure fuel pump and was not solved, so my van completely broke down in Germany on a long trip, causing me extra huge money waist! There was no answer to my claim, at all. I do NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Hello Mr Matyi, We are very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your van while abroad and understand how stressful and costly this must have been. When your vehicle was booked in with us, the reported issues were an engine warning light, vibrations when driving, and smoke on start-up. Following our diagnostic checks, multiple injector faults were identified. These injectors were replaced, the vehicle was road-tested extensively, and no further faults were present at that time. Unfortunately, a later failure of the high-pressure fuel pump- an issue not detectable during our diagnostics- caused your subsequent breakdown. As we explained in our email to you, this was an underlying fault that only developed after our work was completed. We always do our utmost to diagnose and repair vehicles accurately with the symptoms and faults available to us. In this case, the injectors did require replacement given the vehicle’s mileage, and they were replaced successfully. However, we could not have reasonably identified or guaranteed against the later issue with the fuel pump, as it was not present at the time of testing. We regret the inconvenience you suffered, but we would like to reassure our customers that we take great care in diagnosing issues thoroughly and carrying out repairs to the highest standard. Sometimes, particularly with higher-mileage vehicles, additional unrelated faults can arise later, but these are not a result of poor workmanship.
Fixed the electronics problem relating to ESP and ABS. All seems fine now, and done in the space of a morning.

Late morning I discovered my car had a slow puncture, and although I only phoned at lunchtime and couldn't get the car to you until late afternoon, you fitted me in, repaired the tyre while I waited, and charged less than I expected. A Disappointing Experience Let Down by Poor Communication and Unprofessionalism. I had high hopes for this garage after deciding to move from my long-term garage to support a local, independent business. The initial booking process was professional, and I particularly appreciated the honesty when they called me well in advance to correct a mistake on their initial quote. Unfortunately, this positive start did not last. The main issues began on the day of the MOT and service. A misunderstanding over the 8 am appointment time, which was not clarified in the text reminder I received, meant I arrived later than expected. I am happy to own my part in that delay; however, the reaction I received from one of the mechanics was completely unprofessional. Rather than explaining the situation, he was visibly angry, repeatedly checked his watch, and spoke to me in a condescending tone that made me feel incredibly unwelcome. This is not how any customer should be treated. The most significant failure, however, was the complete breakdown in communication later in the day. After approving necessary repairs, I was left waiting for an update. I received no calls at all towards the end of the day. It was only at 5:30 pm, after the reception and workshop staff had apparently gone home, that another employee fortunately thought to check and call me to say my car was still on the ramp and would not be ready. To be left without my car overnight, with no warning whatsoever from the team responsible, is simply unacceptable. The car was ready the next morning, and the final repair work seems fine. However, even the complimentary car wash was symbolic of the lack of care shown—it was a poor effort that failed to remove simple surface dirt. While the reception staff were friendly and the work was eventually completed, the stressful encounter with the mechanic and the shocking lack of end-of-day communication mean I cannot recommend this garage. A business is only as strong as its weakest link, and unfortunately, the disorganisation and unprofessional attitude here overshadowed any positives.

After the call regarding your MOT, additional parts had to be ordered and, once they arrived, your repair was not started immediately. We should have provided an update at this point and offered a courtesy vehicle if required. We’re glad to hear the repair work itself met expectations, but we also note your disappointment with the complimentary wash and will make sure this service is improved so that it reflects the same care we put into our mechanical work. Although in the end I had to pay over £400 to replace a lcd light cluster the staff booked the car in to check first, just to see if a simple repair could be made.

Booked my car in for 9:50am, arrived and booked my car in, got told it would be done in roughly an hour/hour and 10 mins. Got back to the garage at 10:50am and was driving away 10 mins later bang on the time they said. Considering I've had MOT's elsewhere where I dropped it off at 8am and didn't get it back until 4:59pm as they were closing I literally couldn't be happier. All the staff were nice and helpful, and considering it was a boiling hot day, their air-conditioned reception area is definitely a plus. Will be having my MOT's done here from now on 100%.
