“Hi When I purchased my insurance through Compare NI it stated a 20 pounds voucher was included when a purchase was made. I did not receive it nor have any communication from Compare NI. I submitted two emails querying same and have received no response. As such my rating over other sites would be very low.”

“I was offered £25 if I took out insurance with them which I did. I was to get the £25 within £60 days. It is now 65 days. 3 emails later and no reply. Avoid”

“I was pleased with the website initially. However, I used a £30 Amazon gift marathon card deal with my purchase and it didn't go through. Though that would be a problem easily fixable by CompareNI.com, they ignored my emails three times and I have found it impossible to contact them via their contact page. In my book, any business unable to interact with its market is a failure. I will be using CompareTheMarket from now on.”

“On 17 March I was provided with details of Motorhome Insurers who would then be in contact with me. To date 26 March I have not been contacted. While I realise this not the fault of CompareNI, it does not give me any confidence in local companies”

“Looking for Boat Insurance I dutifully completed the application form and was promptly provided with a list of 5 companies, only one of which made contact by phone [though I did miss another call which was never followed up] It was evident early on that the agent had not seen my application via CompareNI and that he had no information other than my name, mobile number, and that I wanted insurance for a boat. Turns out that his company do not even offer insurance cover for boats using the inland waterways of Ireland - which I had specified on my application. Never been a fan of comparison sites - too many questions and time wasting - and that opinion hasn’t changed! Thanks for nothing 👎”

“Somehow mixed up my car reg with another, it was only realised when the insurance company rang to cancel my policy as the proof of no claims showed up a different reg. It was the exact same make, model and colour of car so no chance that I randomly picked this reg, it was an error by compareni when passing details through to the insurer. I was paying for insurance but driving around oblivious to the fact I wasn't insured!”

“Had over 100 calls in 10 minutes after submitting my details to this site, despite the site saying it had approached 5 insurance providers to get a quote. Rendered my phone completely unusable as it just would not stop ringing. In the end I had to block all calls. Shocking practice.”

“Paid for my first month over the phone , then start gettin emails saying they couldn’t take money out of direct debit , then couldn’t get true to them to sort it out even though my bank account has no problems”

“EXTREMELY disappointed with ITS4WOMEN.CO.UK Motor Car Insurance provided by MCL Insuretech as the motor policy was cancelled 35 days after paying the Insurance Premium " consideration" in full by debit card. This has left my Motor Vehicle without VALID legal Statutory Motor Insurance. A Debit Card REFUND from ITS4WOMEN.CO.UK, MCL Insuretech , takes 9 working weeks ( 45 calendar days).”

“This website sold me cheap insurance but it was cheap because it didn't give me adequate insurance cover and could have meant my insurance was void. I took out the policy and rung up my old insurance company to tell them to cancel my auto renewal. They told me the policy I had been sold didn't give me adequate cover which was correct. I then had to cancel the insurance policy compareNI recommended which cost a fee of £30. The insurance company that gave me the cheap quote which I had to cancel said never to use a comparison site like this as this happens all the time, compareNI recommend cheaper insurance and when you read the fine print it gives inadequate cover, always ring an insurance companies directly to price around”
