“I had a great time doing the EA Part Time Diploma! The tutours were all experienced, helpful and insightful. The course content was engaging, extensive and well balanced. Along with excellent lecturers, industry insight and job opportunities. I would absolutley recommend to anyone looking to get into or expand their knowledge of the events industry.”

“It has been seven years since I earned my Postgraduate Diploma in Event Management for Marketing and Communication—graduating with distinction—and I can confidently say the impact has been immeasurable. I brought to the course years of experience as both a practitioner and educator in the discipline at the School of Arts Management and Humanities in Jamaica, yet the fresh insights, global perspectives, and strategic approaches I gained from the program elevated my practice in unexpected ways. The curriculum, already rich and comprehensive, pivoted during the COVID-19 pandemic to address the evolving realities of the industry, adding even more depth to the learning experience. It’s intense and all-encompassing—covering areas that may initially seem peripheral but ultimately prove invaluable in the field. My advice? Inhale deeply, submerge yourself fully, and soak up every ounce of knowledge—it all becomes relevant. A recent example: at the Healing Conference for the Anglican Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, held at the Royalton Luxury Hotel and Spa in Negril, which I was privileged to play key roles, I found myself applying lessons from one of my student assignments that I never imagined I’d revisit. I led a team coordinating with a destination management company to secure competitive hotel rates, airport pickups in Montego Bay (their network was exceptional), and ground transportation for attendees from across Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Florida, Canada, and Nassau. Navigating these logistics with “gentle firmness” was both challenging and rewarding—and it reaffirmed just how practical and applicable the course content truly is. I continue to recommend and endorse this program wholeheartedly. It was money well spent. The lecturers were knowledgeable and accessible, the course content clear and relevant, and the assignments—though demanding—were incredibly engaging. Best of all, the qualification opens doors globally, whether you're managing large-scale productions or intimate community events.”

“Completing the Intensive Diploma was the best decision I have ever made. After deciding that Events was the right career for me and struggling to secure a new role, I looked into the Events Academy and thought their course had the perfect balance of theory and practical to get me ready for the Events world. I successfully completed the course and it was amazing. My lecturers, classmates and project teammates were wonderful and I felt a great sense of achievement having presented our project to a real life client. I learnt so much about myself during this course and developed a new sense of confidence that I will take with me into my Events career. From being too shy to speak up on the first day to confidently pitching our Event in front of lecturers and a client was the best feeling. If you're considering joining the course, I would say go for it! It has changed my life for the better, and I am so excited to start my Events career with the backing of my CIM accredited Diploma. I've also made some amazing new friends for life! Thank you to everyone at the Event Academy who supported me from joining the course all the way to the last day. I am so grateful for this experience and cannot recommend this course enough.”

“The customer service is really amazing as they always maintain their prompt response to any email and were very supportive although I m personally not very happy with how the results comes out and the amount of time it takes to receive the certificate Everything else is fine even thinking to start another course with event academy but reluctant on certificate delay Thank you”

Hi Sara, thank you for your feedback and congratulations on passing your CIM Accredited Online Certificate in Events & Marketing! We totally understand that our students are keen to get their certificates back from the Chartered Institute of Marketing asap. In order to carry an accredited badge, as we do, all our courses and marking are submitted to the CIM to be double checked. This ensures that the learning that we are giving our students is of the highest quality plus the quality of our students work is of the highest standard and therefore it's a qualification valued by employers. However, Claire Derrick is going to take this up with the CIM to see if we can speed the process up. “Wow, what an experience I had at The Event Academy! I am Kenyan and currently reside in Kenya and I was looking into joining the Events Industry but wanted to differentiate myself from others. Therefore I was adamant in upskilling my experience with a certificate and not just locally but from an international standpoint. When I saw that EA are accredited by CIM, that was my cue to enroll. The courses were well planned out and gave a global view on how to carry yourself as a professional. I definitely recommend EA to anyone who wants to expand their mindset in the Events space, be professional and have a global touch to how they operate in the Events Industry.”

“I really enjoyed my time at the Event Academy, it was an intense 2 weeks but so glad I did it. The process from enrolment through to the very end was slick and straight forward. Everyone who is involved at the Event Academy i.e. Student Services, Lecturers, Founders are super friendly and knowledgeable, they really know their stuff and had so much insight into different areas within the industry. Would highly recommend the Event Academy as a reputable organisation for anyone currently in the industry or wanting to pursue events as a career. To improve, I'd suggest a breakdown of your final result, i.e. exam % and project work % and for the groups for the project work to be chosen at random by the lecturer as opposed to choosing your own.”

“The Event Academy experience was 10/10 from start to finish. Everyone who is a part of the Academy from Claire (founding director) to Rosie & Becs (course leaders), ALL lectures and student services team are extremely knowledgeable in their sector and have a passion to share everything they know with their students helping them to learn, grow and succeed in the events world. I took the 2 week intensive course and although as promised, it is intense - it is totally worth it and I couldn’t recommend enough!”

“I had the best time on the course, I learnt so much and I wish I could do it all over again! I really can't wait to see what the future for me holds in Events and I hope to be able to continue to use all the confidence, knowledge and experience from the course in my career! The lecturers were all so amazing and we only had one lecture that was rescheduled due to illness which is pretty incredible! The group of us on the course we were all very supportive of each other and I wish we could of had some more time together - but we are keen to keep our network going and regularly meet up!”

“I was extremely nervous when starting the course and even though it was challenging it definitely taught me a lot. It gave me the opportunity to do get into more events, learn about the events and how to put together an event. Even though not every project was a complete success, I'm glad I went for it. It was well worth pushing through while working full time. Thank you for such an amazing time and doing the course really affirmed my passion for events, hope to get my first events career job soon.”

“stretched my brain, learnt things i never knew, brilliant support from customer service, nothing was too much trouble for them. Overall a very exciting course. my only one comment is that it would be nice to have a breakdown of results, ie. exam percentage and leave behind documents percentage.”

“Wow! Such an amazing organisation, team and course - it felt more like a family than a curriculum by the end of it. So well organised from beginning to end, each aspect was clearly communicated - with a helpful online portal to access info as you need it. All the team and lecturers would go the extra mile to make sure you get the most out of it. The two-week intensive diploma is a brilliant mixture of practical, up-to-date, learning from industry experts, who are currently working in their fields of event expertise (quite literally for festivals 🙃) & well thought-out interactive theory, which will equip anyone to be ready to go straight into a job in the world of event management. This is honestly a brilliantly crafted course, delivered by a massively supportive, knowledgeable and pastoral team - if you’re willing to put a couple of weeks aside to invest in this at the start of your career or during a transition between careers / projects - it will make a world of difference, thanks so much to everyone involved!”
