“This is something different, and special, for Star Wars fans - a game that doesn't centre around battles. The main battle in Outer Rim is to stay flying, and get famous. Set in the hive of scum and villainy that is the Outer Rim of the Empire, this game allows you to be a smuggler, a pirate, a bounty hunter, or other such ner-do-wells. with a basic ship and some credits and skills, you have to fly from system to system, buying cargoes, picking up jobs, tracking down bounties. all the while keeping an eye on which of the factions of the galaxy like you and dislike you, and where their patrols are. This is a really great game, from the art and product materials, to the rules (by second game i wasn't needing the rulebook, just the reference guide occasionally) and its playability. the mechanics are simple yet allow enough complexity to make each game different and engaging. Also, it has a genius AI deck system that allows solo play, and you don't lose a great deal of the detail and fun. If Outer-Rim needs anything, it is EXPANSIONS!! I play Eldritch Horror and have loved buying small box expansions to provide different flavours and escapades and enemies. Outer-Rim could easily have such expansions for more systems, ships, characters, jobs, cargoes etc. I really hope FFG take this route.”

“Very thematic game set in an interesting part of the Star Wars universe. Playing as rogues, smugglers and bounty hunters you will fly around various planets encountering plenty of folk from the wider Star Wars universe. From pick up and delivery to bounties and jobs, there are multiple ways to earn fame, which ultimately is how you win. There is a fair amount of luck in the game and a few bad rolls in a row can take you out of the immersion but there is so much theme that you quickly forgive that! If you like Star Wars you should definitely check this one out!”
