I stumbled across a few videos on youtube for Your Guitar Academy and I’m glad I did. They make all of their lessons available on youtube for free but the real quality content (interactive tab, backing tracks, supplemental materials, etc.) is only available for paying members on their website. Based on the youtube videos, I signed up for a free 14 day trial on the YGA site and I highly, highly recommend it as a learning platform. The lessons are well structured, they break them down into theory, skills, and player studies (think Hendrix, Page, Mayer, Gilmore, etc). They also design a "pathway" of lessons for you to follow based on your goals and skill level. It really feels like they spent a lot of time on this and I've been getting a ton of education and improvement out of it. The foundational theory unit alone taught me things I never realized. If you want to try it out, just pick a course playlist at https://www.youtube.com/@yga and see what you think. Then sign up for a free trial at yourguitaracademy.com. You won’t regret it.

I am 60 but new to guitar but so far I am amazed at how well I have been able to grasp music theory that I spent a lifetime not knowing and I put that down to Dan and the team at YGA all the course modules are in bite size pieces that are easy to grasp. Keep up the good work.

YGA club is amazing. The best part is the simplicity in explaining sometimes difficult concepts. For instance in the 30day beginners challenge it started simple and stayed that way and yet within days you’re playing songs right along with the instructor. Like you’re jamming with him. Awesome

I've been a member of YGA right from the very start of launch day. That turned out to be a wise decision because, as I was to discover, YGA provides unparalleled online tuition for learning both acoustic and electric guitar. The YGA team are all superb tutors who will guide you every step of the way from picking up your guitar for the first time to full mastery of your instrument in a style(s) of your choice - fingerstyle, Blues, electric rhythm, lead guitar etc It's all here. Upon signing up you're asked a range of simple questions so that the team can prepare you a personalised guided pathway based upon your chosen style of playing. The pathway starts at your current level and takes you on a journey of discovery to advanced playing. I particularly like the way you can tweak and adjust your pathway plan along the way so that it continues to support your growth and development. I found all the training videos to be crystal clear and expertly supported by a range of applicable material that has every angle covered. There are active tabs, music notes, chord diagrams, rhythm charts, and music theory supporting each stage of the particular course that you're working on. Everything is explained simply and succinctly - it's all here with nothing left out. YGA are to be congratulated for the time, effort and dedication that has gone into making each course the best possible learning experience for their students. The technique and theory are superbly covered and all are gelled together at each step by learning to play sections of a full-length song crafted specifically for each course. This culminates in the last module with a full playthrough of the song. I found this a fantastic method for consolidating and enhancing all the course material that I've been working on. It certainly helped to keep me motivated. To provide further support on your journey to guitar mastery, there are a range of shorter technique/skills courses for you to hone up on a specific skill that you may want to practice and develop. There is an option available for you to post progress videos of yourself playing for feedback on your progress. And on top of all that, there's the fantastic opportunity to book one-to-one lessons with a tutor of your choice. Once you get proficient you can also learn to play in the style of some of the greatest guitarists who have walked the Earth. YGA will help you to do this through their guided player studies. A range of courses are available that focus on a specific guitar master. Each study breaks down, analyzes, and guides you through the process of learning their playing techniques and how you can emulate their style. I find it fascinating to look through the studies of artists who I wouldn't normally be interested in. For example, the Ed Sheeran study opened my mind up to the phenomenal techniques Ed uses to play guitar. The YGA tutors are all professional musicians and this shows through in the quality of training and instruction. It is clear that the YGA team care passionately about their students and genuinely wants them to succeed. In my opinion, Dan and the team have produced an online guitar system that outshines anything else out there - and I should know because I've tried them all. Don't think about joining up - just do it!! Viva YGA!

The YGA Club is worth every ounce of its 5 Stars! The in-depth courses, knowledgeable instructors and support are stellar. The resources are very well designed, not only teaching songs and licks, but ensuring an understanding of the underlying theory. I honestly cannot recommend it enough and can't wait to see where this incredible resource will take my playing.
