Man I wish I would have known about this when I had first started! I am 24 now and would consider myself a pro but I still find this website very very helpful. I just found out about this today and cannot wait to get on this when I am off work! Amazing tips amazing instructors; this is by far the best website for guitar players.

I bought this course & a guitar for my 75 year old father who has always wanted to play the guitar, however for many reasons, had never got round to it. He knew a few chords when he went along to his first lesson, however the improvement in his playing is already impressive and he’s only on his 4th week. His tutor Joe is by all accounts very professional and is vastly knowledgeable about playing the guitar, as he has a degree in music and plays guitar in a heavy metal band. He writes down notes all the way through the session and will then email these to my Dad, so he’s got a hard copy reminder of what they have discussed in the lesson. My Dad gets on very well with Joe and has learned loads so far, which he is eager to come home and tell us about and demonstrate. It gives me so much pleasure to see my Dad enjoying himself so much and enthusiastic about his new hobby and I know it’ll be one that he will continue for as long as he is able. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Your Guitar Academy & especially to Joe, for helping My Dad fulfil a life long aspiration.

This is my first course that I've purchased with this website and it's an outstanding one! You get GuitarPro files, PDF tabs, MP3 backing tracks, Bonus PDFs, and of course the videos. The Bonus PDFs are chord and scale oriented. The course teaches a couple of Slash style solos as licks. There's about 11 licks for both solos, as well as some more stand alone licks too. What scale each lick came from is presented in the PDFs. They give you 5 patterns of minor/major pentatonic, blues scale, major/minor scale, and harmonic minor. The rhythm section teaches some power chords, strumming patterns, and key changes that are practiced with the 16 bar "song" that comes with a backing track. This is a solid introduction to playing in the style of Slash because it helped me better understand lead, rhythm, and theory from his perspective. It's a great companion to have with you while you're learning actual Guns N' Roses songs, as well as breathing life into music theory that just usually ends up collecting dust. I'll be purchasing another course for sure!

This is worth every penny just to see how Dan looks at the end of each video :). Joking aside, if you want to get good at guitar you must know your notes, scales and chord shapes. This does the trick with a friendly and informative approach. Highly recommended!

I first completed both the acoustic beginners Levels 1 and 2. At the same time I took it upon myself to learn the 5 minor pentatonic shapes, with little direction on my own. But by brining those skills to this Essential Blues Level 1 course it has become a great fit and the penny has dropped towards my understanding and enjoying my guitar journey!

So far going through the SRV section, but the pace is good and I like the music theory insights.
