“I’ve had eczema since childhood and Betnovate, used very sparingly, has always been the only cream that works for me. For some reason my GP doesn’t trust me with it. They must fear that at 54 years of age I may take leave of my senses and decide to ignore the instructions and apply it to my face or rub it into my eyes. They insist on prescribing me the ready diluted quarter strength version - which simply does not work for me. The outworking of this is that a small patch of eczema on my wrist had spread right up my arm to my inner elbow and then into my right armpit. I couldn’t use deodorant or anti perspirant and it was so uncomfortable it was keeping me awake at night. Two applications of full strength Betnovate has resolved what four months of use of the ‘watered down’ version did not. My eczema is totally cleared up. If I could be bothered arguing with my GP I’d explain this the next time I need a script - but to be honest the tube I purchased from the Independent Pharmacy will last me for ages.
