Native, heritage breeds slow grown on small farms in The Dales, expertly butchered and delivered fresh. Nose-to-tail, nutrient dense and immense flavour.
“The sausages looked great, and were packaged well. I just found them a little bit on the tasteless side.
I normally go for an organic Cumberland type, where you can taste the salt etc
WIll try another typr from Swaledale, but will laiise with them first to get advice.”
Hi Katherine,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we value your honest opinion. This feedback for our Yorkshire Breakfast Sausages isn't typical - they are spiced with flavours that clasically compliment pork well - nutmeg, mace and black pepper. Whilst we believe they are a great all-rounder, and judges at the Great Taste awards commented that the spicing is well balanced, others you may enjoy that are a little more strident in terms of spicing are our Cumberland Sausage and Calabrian Sausage.
Cumberland sausages have their origins in the prominent spice trade at Whitehaven port on the Cumbrian coast so a high level of spicing is certainly a feature. Calabrian Sausages are inspired by the Italian region of Calabria, and have good hit of chilli with the background fragrance of fennel seeds.
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Jorge
“A family favourite, and regularly purchased by us, a genuine old fashioned sausage, heaving with flavour and so satisfying that having two seems positively greedy! Works well in a fry-up or in a bread roll. I love how it's not trying too hard, not over seasoned or over spiced to hide any flavour shortfall which is how supermarkets seem to work. Just an honest sausage that never fails to make the family smile.”
