“Great little mirror that will last for years while camping. Nice highly polished stainless steel. Really good addition of the built in travel stand - can be used as a stand, or to hang from a hook etc. I purchased this one to replace a similar camping mirror that I've had for over 20 years! The old one is now too scratched and dented to use properly. Really good service from Forces Uniform and Kit! I will certainly use them again for future purchases!”

“This is not a heliograph mirror but if you are in any doubt as to what mirror to have for travels, just buy this one as it's only a Fiver. Took me some time to settle on a mirror I liked when I worked in Australia and chanced upon a camping store. That mirror was similar same size and thickness. Instead of a handle it had a hole in the middle of the short edge. The hole was for you to hang on a nail, not for signalling. It lasted well until I left it in one of my temporary living Portakabins in Saudi on a separate assignment. Replaced it with a polycarbonate mirror. That packaging said "unbreakable". Rubbish, found it broke upon the first night's arrival to yet different assignment to Saudi. Took me another two years to find another stainless steel mirror but, being thinner than the Australian, was dented fairly quickly. (Not allowed to use hard sided cases on helicopters, only soft bags or "Bergans".) Then followed another 5 years of hunting high and low in UK for an equivalent Australian mirror. None to be found. At last in 2012 was assigned to Australia again. Paid for 2 extra nights' stay at the end of that job to hunt for said mirror. Bought 4. Lesson learnt, when you see something that's right for the task, get it. By chance came upon Forces Uniform website. Hip, hip, hurray, looked like similar mirror to one I wanted all along but with handle which doubles as a stand. Bought two straight away. Bought 3rd one on the next order as 1. bound to loose one eventually, and 2. when you want one, may not be able to find replacement for love or money. By the way, it is not a heliograph as packed inside survival life-rafts (hole in the middle & with a parallax device) but you can certainly reflect a great deal of light to attract attention.”
