“I would make the same comments I made about the German moleskin trousers, nice kit, but don't take other peoples reviews at face value. Again, I would suggest these are not a 'large fit', and as a normal sized bloke (5ft 9inches, 11.5 stones) I should have gone for the next size up as the 39" chest size does not give much 'wriggle room'. I would still buy another one, only larger!”

“Jacket Grade 1 showed minimal signs of wear. It hasn't yet been tested in prolonged heavy rain but hopefully it will prove itself.”

“Great delivery, bang on time. Brill jacket / size / fit. Only issue is Grade 1 spec, maybe I was a little unlucky as I think mines is just under grade 1 but happy to keep and get some spray for it. I received the trousers also that where outstanding almost brand new. So just luck of the draw I think with level of grade 1. Having said that I will continue to shop here and recommend to all my ex mil mates who like me get out and about in all weathers.”

“The Austrian army alpine clothing is the best bar none as far as army issue clothing goes. These goretex alpine jackets are first class technical jackets with expensive technical features in the cuffs and hood, which allow for excellent adjustment. The hoods are large to go over a helmet, so work better with a beanie hat on and the hood will then adjust to fit perfectly to this. The jackets come very large. I am a 42-44 large and the 96-100 fits me great with plenty of room for a chunky Austrian Army dachstein jumper as a mid layer underneath. These 2 items work really well together. I also have the Austrian Army overtrousers with braces. These are also excellent. I now have total confidence anywhere in the UK in any weather. I highly recommend these jackets and any of the Austrian Army surplus gear. Absolutely brilliant top end kit.”

“This is my second jacket of this type - the first one is 8 years old, and its still waterproof, not a single leak. I bought this instead of motorcycle waterproofs to wear on my bike as I know how good they are - brilliant value and roll up small to carry on the bike, perfect.”

“Very happy with this Jacket. It's a roomy fit to allow for warm layers u underneath. It's very durable and I gave it a coating of spray on Nicwax before tackling the wet winter weather we are experiencing in the Scottish Highlands. It held up really well. I like it so much I'm thinking of getting another as a back up.”

“Great Product of the Austrian Army, Not as light as the modern hightech jackets, but light enough to travel. Absolutely waterproof and robust for heavy duty. Great price for a waterproof Gore-Tex jacket and shipped very fast. Two absolutely minor repairs and a white chalk mark were the signes that it was used and taken out of service. Just bought another one.”

“It keeps the rain out ,which is the main reason I purchased this jacket, I live on the south coast and frequent the sea front and beach, in winter its very rainy windy and cold. I bought several Chinese waterproof jackets on Amazon that I had to return as they were not waterproof at all,so in desperation I searched and found this grade 1 Alpine jacket. it had a few repairs.. I had to play around for a while adjusting the large hood down as it was obviously designed to fit over a helmet,a large hood is important to keep the wind and rain out around here. As it is not lined I had to wear a thick fleece under it for warmth.so one has to make allowances for fit. I would like it to be longer and a few more pockets,it has three with heavy duty velcro fastenings that can be a bit awkward to undo with gloves. Small two way Zip can be a fiddly to engage. Surprised that it's not a larger zip for military gear. Overall the jacket does the job at a reasonable price, .Delivery was quick.”
