“Five stars, with the following notes: first, this is a little more rugged than I was expecting for an indoor rug, it feels rough like an outdoor rug. BUT it's really grippy and I still like the way it looks, (like the picture) and I'm confident no humans or dogs will slip down it. So I still like it. Also, it's thiiiicckk, like it takes some muscle to form it to your stairs, so get some tools and be prepared to sweat if you're doing it yourself. The rug has a back rubbery grippy liner, which makes it sturdy but tougher to get around the step nose. BUT I see it as a plus because it's sturdy and kind of heavy duty.
Also, because it's not high-pile, you could see the light reflecting off the many silver staples I used to install it. I didn't like this, so I went through with some gray paint and a small brush and painted over the staples so they blend in and don't reflect light. Took 15 minutes, worth it.
I also did install some squishy carpet padding underneath it, and it's now very comfortable to step on. Overall I'm happy with this rug.”
