Mountain Dog are proudly the UK's Premier Dog Outfitter.
Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

Today we have now served well over 150,000 customers and our business, whilst still small and family focused, occupies over 5000 square feet and is full of amazing dog products for the active and not so active pup alike.

“This is an excellent piece of equipement to keep your dog safe. My spaniel has throughly tested it. It's been in the sea, in a river, through many bushes in a woodland and still managed to stay securely to his ruffwear harness. It also survived some rough play with a relatives puppy when it was on the collar. It fits securely on his collar, harness and his ruffwear high vis. Made him easy to see in the dark, which stops him being stepped on at running club. One thing is it requires a strong press to turn it on, so would be difficult for children or elderly to use if they're fingers are weak. Can imagine its hard to use it if you have cold fingers so turn it on before you go outside. Hold it for several minutes. Very easy to charge and charges quickly. Highly impressed and have already recommended to several dog owners.”

“Good bright light. A bit hard to start and stop if your are in a rush with a lovely dog but it does the trick and fits securely ok his ruff wear harness. 2 weeks in and he hasn’t lost it yet so all good x”

“Fitted with 2 types of sturdy clips which would be unlikely to fall off accidentally. The case should be capable of taking a few knocks also. The on/off switch was a bit stiff but using 2 fingernails pressed hard into the grooves on the switch started it going, then it was easy to change light modes. It could also be used as an emergency beacon should an accident happen where rescue services may be needed.”

“I had high hopes of finally finding a good rechargeable collar light.Good it might be if only I could have got t to work. I charged it but unable to start, far too stiff to operate.I asked for assistance with my daughter and grandson who is technically minded, but they too could not start. So, sadly returned and have bought an illuminated collar.”

Hi Christine, Many thanks for taking the time to review the Ruffwear Beacon. These Beacon lights, by design, require you to hold the button down for two seconds or more to turn on. This is to prevent the light turning on or off by accident. This is a brilliant little light, so I would urge you to persist with this. “Brilliant light! We walk our brown cocker spaniel through several tunnels on his daily walk and without this you cant see him at all but this beacon really lights him up and also fits really snug on the ruffwear harness with no moving around.”
