Strong yet lightweight and soft to the touch - both the handle and main lead. Excellent quality, great colour and very happy with the delivery time. Not had a lead with a lower traffic handle before and I'm using that a lot as gives confidence to bot me and my dog.

I was optimistic about this product after reading the description and my dog trainer recommended it and said how good it was to have different lead positions if the dog started pulling. I’ve been living with it for a month or so now and here’s my honest findings. Upon fitting it appears it will adjust like a back pack but it is quite tricky to adjust on an energetic active puppy and the plastic adjusters often slip under the harness cover making them hard to use and there are no tails which would make adjusting easier as you could put it on loose and nip it up with the tails (like a rucksack shoulder strap). Eqaully guessing the size when it’s off the dog is not really easy. I’ve used the harness to secure the dog in the car and the dog backed out of it which was quite dangerous, and I’ve had it fit really snuggly after that and had him join me in a shop whilst he should have been secured outside. On 5 occasions I have looked down to see my lead has disconnected from the rear clip (luckily the dog hasn’t noticed and bolted off or into traffic)I appreciate this could be due to the clip on the lead but it appears more likely because of the flat design of the harness rear clip that it keeps disconnecting) I have now cut the clip off my lead and fitted a locking carabiner instead. On a few occasions where my dog has been distracted and pulled I’ve used the front clip it doesn’t really deter pulling like I imagined as the harness just tends to twist and sometimes it will twist if the dog is being energetic on a walk on the rear clip. I’ve tried lots of configurations tight/loose tight body loose neck etc to check it’s not my fitting causing the issue and had my dog trainer fit it. So it’s not as I expected also recently it’s been rubbing under the dogs front arm pits which leads to him stopping on walks any advice mountain dog?

H Gareth Sorry to hear about your issues with the Front Range Harness. This is by far our most popular harness and the challenges you highlight are not routine at all. We would urge you to look at the initial fit once more - we wrote a guide which helps get this right but I suspect it will be down to this. Our team will even talk you through this if this helps as the issues of rolling and rubbing can only really be created by something being fitted too loose. Of course, not all harnesses suit all dogs and a change of manufacturer can help too. Please give us a shout and we will give you the guidance you need - unfortunately your review doesn't link to a verified sale but as one of Ruffwears leading partners we've fitted many of these successfully and we hope we can help you too.

I purchased the ruffwear harness in both orange and teal with matching leads. The harness is well made and the lead attaches securely to it. My 9 month old Shiba Inu looks comfortable in it and it stays in place unlike some other harnesses I have had in the past. Very happy with my purchase.

I have had several harnesses from Mountain dog and always been very happy. My newest fits my rescue Podenco cross perfectly and the training lead is fantastic. It’s very comfortable in your hand and doesn’t seem to get tangled.

Hello Michelle, We are so glad to hear you are happy with your order. That is a fantastic photo of your furbaby, they look great in the orange. An excellent choice! With regards to the Anti-Pull Lead, due to the engineering of the leash, the handle that is connected to the leash is attached by a swivel mechanism. This mechanism prevents the leashes from overlapping each other when out on a walk and in turn, stops tangling. The leash is also able to self adjust to the dog walking needs, reducing the time spent adjusting the lead within your hand. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We hope to see you shopping with us again soon. Mountain Dog Team.

Have had a ruffwear for my other dog and there have been improvements since my last purchase. Well made ordered a M which just fit despite being well within the parameters. Though the elastic is there to provide a snug fit
