“Firstly, my expectations were high as the kit is priced higher than a lot of others on the market. Having said that, the 2.4k of juice does make it worth the extra £5. The brewing was straight forward and instructions were clear, the only thing i changed was that i racked into secondary for a further week after initial fermentation. The instructions say that after bottling the product will be ready after 3 days (or when the cider has cleared), I left for 2 weeks in the bottle before tasting. My first thought is that it is very sweet. I added the whole sachet of sweeter thinking the sweetness would complement the pear however if i brew this again, i would only add half. The strawberry flavouring seems far to small to impact 23 litres of cider and so after adding the sachet after fermentation had ceased, there is no strawberry flavour that my pallet can detect. As a perry, its very nice, it carbed well and has a very smooth taste (much better than any turbo ciders i have made). Crystal clear and very pleasant to drink however slightly sickly, admittedly due to me adding the whole sachet of sweetner, Personally, i won't be buying this kit again but have just put an order in for the superior apple cider as i believe this is a good brand of kit.
