So...I am quite new to brewing at home but i have done a few of the Beerworks kits now and i must say i have not been disappointed. I still have two other to get going. Regarding the Founders Double American IPA - the best review i can give it is that two of my friends that i can only describe as total beer snobs have tasted this little beauty and despite wanting to tell me that they don't like it, have had to admit that if they were served it in their local 'boutique beer shop' they would go back for more. Everything about it is fantastic. I do move it into another container to settle for a few days before bottling but trust me - if you like a strong, hoppy IPA then this will not disappoint!

I have just started this brew yesterday-2.30pm. I used 'Harris Pure Brew ' before pitching yeast. Within 1 hour started the first blip!. By 9pm a steady fermentation. By next morning...as previous review...all overflowing and had a good cleanup. OG started at 1078 so going to be a strong brew.

This really has double everything including the fermentation. I had the same problem as the other reviewer with the beer escaping through the airlock when I got up and decanted a gallon or so into a brew bucket for two days. However I am well pleased with the result. This is a beer to give to impress your friends but as with all the Beerworks kits patience is a virtue and leave it as long as you can resist temptation. Great kits with good instructions and obviously designed by people who know their beer. Gradually working my way through this range and looking forward to the next one which is the best praise I can give.

Currently brewing the Founders - warning though! On day 2 the amount of Co2 being given off was enough to send fermentation fluid up through the airlock as well as distort the plastic lid. I used two 8pt beer jugs, filled with water, sat on top of the bucket lid in order to stop it from being literally blown off. On day 3 fermentation settled down. Strength on day 8 of fermentation was 7.88%. Going to give it 14 days before kegging and bottling.

Early days as I’ve just started but a word of warning and despite the reviews saying... bit of a lag in starting the fermentation.... I set it going yesterday about midday. It immediately started to foam. I got out of bed around 3am, something woke me, it was the beer hissing at me. Airlock blocked with foam and the bin was bowing dangerously out....if I hadn’t taken out the air lock....boooom! After 8 hrs of calming down and two clear ups, it is blowing bubbles thru the air lock quite nicely but what a rocket. They did supply 2x 40 g sachets of yeast.....so, looking forward to completing the brew and will report back. OG was 1080!

i only use extract kits & ive tried probably 100+ different kits, including others from lovebrewing - i love seriously hoppy ipa beers & this is way better than anything ive previously tried, seriously strong with a huge tropical pineapple flavour from the hops (at least to my taste buds) the only thing i changed was to add an additional 75g ahtanum dry hops, i added the kit hops + the ahtanum after 3 weeks of fermenting & dry hopped for 1 week then moved beer to secondary to clear for 3 more days then bottled with no dextrose, yes 31 days in total - it was easily worth the wait, ive paid £6 for 2/3 of a pint that wasnt as good as this!!!!!!

This was brewed as my Xmas beer for work colleagues, always brew a big beer for Xmas, usually its all grain but this year since I'm rebuilding my brewery, I have been using these kits, since thses were my second ever brew (dockers) and never been disappointed, so for a big beer, what else would I choose? This is a stunning kit, the yeast has a lag (don't worry have a homebrew and relax) but will complete, you get a very generous 20g of yeast, so no issues there, it ferments clean and preserves the hops, yes those two large 90 gram bags that dry hop the beer, do order some hop socks or bags, there is a great little filter bag in the kit but a couple of socks will really help as well. Give this the full two weeks or more to finish fermenting before bottle or keg, it's a big beer and those yeasts need the extra time. I kegged mine and bottled with counter flow filler, the yeast had dropped very clear. This was received very well and many didn't realise I had cheated and used a 'kit". Do I feel guilty, do I heck, these kits are brilliant and super tasty, if I can't or don't want to all grain, any one of these Love brewing kits will definitely fill the spot! PS 6 kilo of malt extract , I don't know of a bigger kit except the Love Brewing Imp stout!

Really really happy with this kit from the moment I opened the box to the finished product. You get so much for your money and the quality of the beer produced is so very tasty. This is the second beerworks kit I’ve done and both of them have been brilliant but this is my favorite. My brew came out at an impressive 8.4% and is so full of flavor. The nose of the beer when you pour it into a glass is all Mandarin. Incredible. Lovely citrus flavors as you sip the beer. It’s it’s very hoppy and bitter but I’m only 4 weeks into it being bottled. So I’m sure it will mellow in time. Very very drinkable beer. It’s not one for a night when you might be needing to drive home but i would highly recommend getting this kit. You will be impressed. Thanks to all who made this I’m a happy customer!
