This was not the kit that I ordered and I was sent this one in error. But what a fortuitous mistake! The beer has just reached the point of clearing and it already has a fabulous taste to it, as good as any beer I've had at beer festivals. It also has that that 6% kick which makes you feel very mellow very quickly. I now have a huge dilemma - I would like my friends and neighbours to try it because I'm sure they would love it too, but I also want to make it last until I can get the next batch ready!!!

Add 2or 3 bags of frozen dark cherries and you have a beautiful Cherry Ale. Brew it for the winter months especially. Superb.

After popping into Love Brewing in Chesterfield whilst on holiday in Derbyshire, I decided to buy the Golden Rocket. After having barreled some beers just before summer and struggled (festival kit and woodfordes kit) with clearing I thought I would start bottling beers after some helpful advice from Richard. Well 4 weeks from the start of fermenting I have tried the Golden Rocket. Wow, this is by far the best homebrew I have tasted by a country mile. Fermented at around a constant temperature of 20° it was quite a lively fermention at first with it expanding my fermenting bucket for the first few days. It came out at 6% abv. Lovely and fruity and looking forward to 40 odd bottles of quality beer and not having to spend my money at the supermarket for beer. Now cant wait to make the Golden Ale part mash kit I brought at the same time. 5 star beer.

Mine has been barrelled for a month now,and sampled last weekend with Number 1 son when he visited.I can only endorse the previous reviews of this beer.Put simply, this is pub quality beer, good lacing of the head to the glass.Excellent, pale gold colour, and just the right level of hopiness. However, this is a deceptively easy drinking beer, whose strength wil soon creep up on you.Beware.

I have made a few of the kits on offer - Yorkshire Bitter, Suffolk Bitter, Kentish Bitter, Sierra IPA, some more than once, as well as the cider. They have all been good, but this Golden Rocket is the best. Never mind being the best home brew I've tasted, this is one of the best bottled beers I've tasted - much better than most commercially produced beers. Will I make it again? Certainly! Will I drink it all the time? Er, probably not all the time - it is mighty strong so it is not a session beer, but treated with respect this is the one to go to!

This was the first beer i had brewed at home, clear instructions from start to finish. I used a starter pack from Love Brewing along with this beer kit. I do think the days are a little out in the instructions as after adding in the hops i had to leave it longer than 5 days to get the correct Hydrometer reading. The beer its self - well to be honest i never expected it to taste so good, with a nice punchy kick to start with its so smooth and goes down very well. From first pour to last i got a great head on my beer that to be honest i wasnt expecting to be quite so good! A great way to start brewing, a lovely pale ale that your mates will enoy! its something a little different to bring to a party and will go down well! Also thanks to Richard for being on hand for all my questions! Thanks Guys!

I started drinking this a bit too early, and the hops came through a bit aggressively. A month down the line, the Supreme Commander, had a secret swig out of my unguarded glass and thoroughly enjoyed it. As she doesn't like beer, this was praise indeed. Strong, well balanced and a clean finish.

The golden rocket has been in the bottle for six weeks now and is truly a wonderful rounded and well-finished beer. It is full bodied and full strength being 6.2% ABV. It has a lovely creamy head on it which sticks to the glass as you drink it. This is what proper beer should taste like with overtones of hoppiness and just the right level of bitterness. Would I make it again? Absolutely and as I only have 15 bottles left it won't be too long!
