“This hatch was to replace one that I made some years ago as I had also replaced the ladder. The quality is first class and the size is exactly as ordered; I wish I had ordered one with a larger flange - 25mm is very slim but that was my error, It was fairly easy to fit, but I have two suggestions. 1. If it was possible to detach the hatch from the frame during installation it would be a great deal easier to fit. 2, It would also help if the screw holes were slotted horizontally so as to allow a few millimetres of lateral adjustment once the frame is in place.”

“I was a touch nervous placing the order that it wouldn't fit when it arrived or wouldn't be of a suitable quality. I was delighted to find my worries were unfounded, as it fitted perfectly (I did folllow the given measuring instructions) and the quality was very good. Overall I'm very pleased and would buy again if I had the need. Nice it is British made too!”

“I am really happy with this product. Being custom made it took around 10 days to arrive but came well packaged and with clear instructions. The product has a quality feel and the visible finish is faultless. So good in fact that I now need to repaint the ceiling to match, The fit was perfect with the size exactly as specified and luckily my measurements were spot on so it slotted right into place as soon as the old hatch was removed. The only downside ? The hatch is so much better than the old drafty wooden number that we put up with for years that I am now in trouble for not fitting one of these years ago... Highly recommended product.”

“I was undecided between getting a joiner to make a wooden hatch from scratch or go for a made to measure one from Jupiter Blue... After consideration I went for the Jupiter Blue option and am very glad I did! Not being able to visit their showroom prior to placing an order the main concern I had was the weight of the hatch, being made from metal. However, once it arrived I was very impressed with how light it is. Unpacking the hatch revealed custom polystyrene packaging along with a pack of 8 screws (there are 12 holes in the hatch frame to secure it to the ceiling beams), a pole and some installation instructions. Installation (with the help of an additional pair of hands) was nice and simple. We used some G cramps (with scrap wood to protect the surface of the frame) to hold the frame in place while we drilled and secured the frame in-place. Before installation the frame has a fair amount of play in it; care needs to be taken in terms of the order in which you secure the frame attachment points as it is easy to pull the frame out of shape and hence the door then will not align as well as prior to installation. The hinges have a bit of float in them, but it's definitely advisable to take note of my above comment.”

“Ordered a made to measure loft hatch as I didn't want to mess around adjusting the size of the hole in my ceiling. When it arrived the size was spot on and it was a doddle to fit, just had to cut a slot in the joist to enable the lock catch to turn fully. The hatch is a good tight fit and is a good looking, quality bit of kit although I did use better screws than those supplied.”

“The made to measure loft access door worked perfectly for me. A minor problem is that the catch doesn't turn fully through 90 degrees when the frame is fairly tight against the surrounding wood because it's not wide enough, but it's not a real issue, I didn't include the Aluminium cloth insulation cover (£8.50 extra) but I would recommend adding this. Perhaps it shouldn't be an extra? I recommend this product strongly.”

“I had slight concerns about this fitting, but it is pretty much perfect. Produce looks good and although slightly expensive, getting a bespoke fitting is bound to cost more. I would recommend it.”
