“Thank heavens for metal feeding bits!
Downside, as has happened before, is that squirrels hve sussed how to loosen the feeder. I have not been able to observe them, but they seem to know that treading on the release allows then to depress and then (by lifting?) remove the feeding bits. I find the release mechanism really weak- maybe a spring needed? No answer, as this release mechanism is perfect for arthritic hands which may not have the strength to cope. .
To avoid squirrel intelligence, I now tightly wind thin wire around the bases- but a nuisance to unravel for cleaning.”
“I had problems with one of the feeders they sent but a couple of phone calls to the ladies in the office soon sorted things out. They were very helpful and obliging. 10 out of 10.”
