Heritage Caged Ground Feeder Reviews

4.3 Rating 25 Reviews
Good price so ordered two, however both were damaged. Haven’t complained as they are only bird feeders and the company has since contacted me to make amends. I am very impressed with the customer service and attitude of wanting to correct issues. Would recommend using this company.

Only time will tell if our small birds will go in it, as we have not had it long. It certainly keeps the big birds at bay, driving the starlings mad !! Hopefully the small birds will take to it.

On the whole, this was just what I’d been looking for, a reasonably priced ground feeder, which would hopefully give an opportunity to our local robins, because the starlings tend to eat everything else. The only issue I had was that the ground feeder I ordered appears to be slightly bent or warped, as it does sit flat when placed on a hard surface. Not such a problem if placed on the lawn, but a little disappointing. Saying that, I didn’t feel it was enough of an issue to request a replacement or refund.

Lovely little item. Birds found it and used it straight away. Needed something to let the small birds get first servings. I like how it's raised from the ground on legs.

This feeder seems to have been intended for smaller birds to pass through the mesh but it would be a squeeze even for small birds to do this and I haven't seen any of them try. Also, it's difficult to clean thoroughly, as you can't take it apart (though it's easy to fill, as the top lifts up). On the plus side, it's been a big hit with blackbirds and dunnocks, who seem to have no problem accessing the food, and squirrels and foxes leave it alone. Wood pigeons use it as well, but it's slightly awkward for them to reach in so they don't gobble up masses of food as they would with an open feeder. It's nice and sturdy and I like the 'roof' which protects it from the worst of the rain. Overall, this has worked well!

It arrived all bent and the roof was so bent out of place it wouldn't close. The company is replacing it for me. I purchased it with a bag of meal worms as a gift so I am happy to wait for the replacement to arrive.

Cheaper than others sold elsewhere, really sturdy. I will use a separate tray inside for the seed so its easier to clean and keep away from the edges. The catch on the roof opening is really tight so the bigger birds wont get it open and get in.
