Woodside offers both luxury and comfort in three large en-suite bedrooms, ideal for larger groups, making it a great base for families and friends to visit the local countryside.

For golfers, the popular 18-hold Bentham Golf Course is just a 5-minutes drive away.

This characterful cottage has been sympathetically converted from former farm buildings and it features an ‘upside down’ layout to make the most of the surrounding views and landscaped garden.

If you are a larger group, the property can be rented alongside the adjoining property Parkside Cottage, with a combined capacity of 14 guests.

About The Location
Bentham has been a major hub of market town life for centuries. The historic town remains a busy centre for the surrounding community and its visitors.

Steeped in agricultural heritage, farming is still key to day-to-day life in this rural town with its stunning backdrop of open fields and uninterrupted views. The livestock market takes place on a Wednesday at the Auction Mart, when Bentham buzzes with activity.

Lying where North Yorkshire meets Cumbria and Lancashire, this hidden gem is perfectly placed as a base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland and the Lake District.

The village benefits from three pubs, cafes, butchers, a bakery, a Chinese takeaway, an Indian restaurant and takeaway and a traditional fish and chip shop. For shopping essentials, the Coop supermarket is open 7-days a week.

The River Wenning, a tributary of the River Lune, meanders pleasantly from the south of Clapham, alongside High and Low Bentham. A number of footpaths, leading from the cottage, follow both banks of the river and pass through rich meadow and pastureland.

In contrast, less than 30-minutes of upland walking brings you to ‘Big Stone’ with its breath-taking views of moors and mountains extending from the Forest of Bowland to the far Lakeland hills. In the quiet of the early evening, an unforgettable experience is a glorious vision from here of the sun setting over Morecambe Bay.

Set apart from the main caravan park the cottage was a short walk from the centre of the village and it’s shops. We chose this property as it didn’t allow dogs. For 2 people we had plenty of space. Glad to see a large tv had been installed. All bedrooms and bathrooms were very large. Kitchen was well equipped and the property was clean and well maintained. Outside space and garden were very pleasant. Wifi was an issue as we were not aware there was a limit on usage. Reading lights in the lounge would be helpful. Great location for the Yorkshire Dales and enjoyed the High Bentham Circular Walk. Would gladly return.
