Kent Cottage is a two-bedroom terrace situated off Stramongate in Kendal, a 5-minutes walk from the town centre and a 5-minutes walk from the Kendal train station and the bus station. Decorated to a high standard, this self-catering property is ideal for families, friends or guests visiting Kendal for business. With excellent transport links and dedicated off-street parking, Kent Cottage is easy to get reach.

Accessed from Grosvenor Court, a quiet yard, you enter into the light and bright living room that comprises two two-seater sofas and an armchair. The wall-mounted smart TV benefits from Netflix* and other streaming services. In the living room corner, in front of the sizeable double-glazed sash window, is a square dining table for four guests. Off the living room is the newly-fitted modern kitchen, perfect for cooking up a meal when you don't fancy one of the many restaurants in town.

Upstairs is two bedrooms, a double and a single, and the bathroom. Both bedrooms are beautifully decorated and light, thanks to the large sash windows. Carpets have been removed to reveal the original wood floorboards, which are stunning and complemented by the contrasting white clothes storage units. The bathroom comprises a bath with a shower over, a basin and a loo—airing cupboard in the corner.

Overall, Kent Cottage is a fantastic choice of accommodation to explore Kendal and the Lake District.

About The Location
Stramongate is part of Kendal's one-way road system and a short 2-minute stroll to the River Kent. The upper-end of the road is also a fresh veg market on a Wednesday and a Saturday Market day - popular with residents. The locality of the town centre is ideal for visiting one of the many restaurants, cafe's, coffee shops, real ale and gin bars.

Kendal train station links to Windermere train station and Oxenholme train station on the West Coast mainline, with frequent trains between London Euston and Glasgow Central. Also nearby is the Kendal bus station, where you can catch the 555 Lake Explorer, an hourly service between Kendal and Keswick, stopping at Staveley, Windermere, Ambleside, Rydal, Grasmere and Keswick. Daily tickets are available from the driver or bus app, which is a great way to see the Lakes without the car and associated car parking charges.

*Netflix account required to use.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Handy for all local amenities and public transport links. In the centre of town but tucked away so you're not bothered by passing traffic. Kent cottage was spotlessly clean, is tastefully decorated and has super comfy beds. Good water pressure in the shower and plenty hot water for 3 consecutive showers - including a teenager with an elaborate hair care routine! Towels provided were large and fluffy. More towels would have been appreciated though, one towel per person for a 4 night stay isn't great, especially with no laundry facilities. Pets are welcome but it's not really pet friendly. Door opens straight onto street but we should have picked up on that from the photos. Not great bringing a wet dog home on rainy days as you're straight into light coloured carpets in the living room. Recommend having a towel ready and waiting for coming home. There's a fab pet shop/groomers next door though with a great selection of treats which kept the pup happy! Major downside is the parking - having to squeeze through a pringles tube to get parked in an exceptionally tight space is anxiety enducing!

Access to the property is as described in the pre rental information provided. The property is clean, supplies all your kitchen equipment and utensils and is immaculate. The living spaces have very relaxing colour pallet and is very well furnished. Bedding is colour coordinated and comfortable. The heating system works very well and a comfort during the colder months. Access to public transport is on the doorstep. Bus station a five minute walk away with access to The Lake District and other delightful villages. Kendal centre is a shirt walk away with some beautiful independent shops. I love it and will keep going back. Access fir car parking is available, off road.

A lovely little cottage. Has everything you need for a holiday home. The entrance by car is VERY NARROW! Be warned. the archway is too narrow for a car above an average small family vehicle. ie: A VW Golf just gets through the archway with about 6" to spare. If you're not good on stairs I would not recommend it. There is only one handrail and the ceilings are very high so the stairs are quite long. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a single bed, both very comfortable. Otherwise it's lovely. Ideal for the lakes etc.

On arrival opening the front door there was a beautiful scent of a clean cottage. The warmth was perfect. Beautifully decorated and furnished that feels home from home. A very short walk, takes you right into the centre of Kendal, full of interesting shops, cafes, restaurants and an amazing history. Not to mention the location of the very heart of what the Lake District is all about!

This is my 4th stay at Kent Cottage and I love it! Stylishly furnished with tastefully touches. One minute your in the heart of Kendal and the next in a warm, welcoming, relaxing place of calm. Close to some quality supermarkets, game changing butchers, unique shops and restaurants you will never find yourself looking for the next meal. Museums, castles, theatres close by. What's not to like. An updated electrical heating system this visit was the Icing on the cake .

A home from home in an excellent location. Didn’t feel like a holiday let as all the extra little touches made it feel very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. An excellent base for visiting the Lake District. Highly recommend it.
