My family have been coming to Garth Cottage for the last four years. It is perfect. Spotlessly clean and has all the facilities we could wish for. The cottage is well maintained and has a really beautiful garden. It is lovely sitting out in the sun but can get a little too hot in the back of the house. Having said that there are plenty of doors and windows that open out onto the patio. It has a fantastic location close enough to all the many local amenities but in a quite private road to be far enough away for relaxation.

Beautiful cottage in a great location. Big enough to accommodate 8 people and still feel roomy. The house has a lovely fireplace and separate cosy corner for kids to play board games or watch tv. There were 3 living rooms, so there was enough room for everyone to have their own quiet corner if they wanted. The kitchen diner although small, it was well equipped and the kids loved having breakfast all together at the corner table next to the window. The beautiful lamps, the Aga kitchen and the cottage style furniture made our stay much nicer. The vegan bath products was a nice touch too. We will definitely come back to the cottage again!

A family of 7 adults and 1 dog have had a wonderful relaxing stay here at Garth Cottage. Description on line does not do it justice. Luxurious sitting rooms with log fire , dining room with a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains. Kitchen fully equipped with lovely warming Aga. Extra fridge in boot room was an excellent addition. Garden and patio area were a lovely sun trap. Upstairs bedrooms were so comfy and spacious and the master bedroom with brilliant views again.Opened up the curtains in the morning to an absolute Wow of a view! Only improvement suggestion based on other properties we have stayed in had unlimited logs for fire and a better welcome pack with eggs bread butter tea bags and a sample of local produce. Also for those aching legs after our long days of walking and cycling a bath or maybe a spa tub/jacuzzi in the garden.

This was our second stay at Garth Cottage and once again we didn't want to leave. The property is beautiful in every way...it's lavish furnishings and gorgeous decor....it's wonderful garden and breathtaking views .. it's quiet but convenient location....the list is endless. The owners have thought of every detail to make this an amazing place to be. We can't recommend this lovely retreat enough. A special mention for the owner Bev and Adam at Herdwick Cottages who both went out of their way to help us with queries before and during our stay. Don't hesitate to book....this place can't be surpassed for serenity and sublime luxury
