The Shearing Shed is identical to its neighbouring Pod the Herdsman Hut, both perched on the hillside of a working farm. A modern Glamping Pod complete with underfloor heating, mains electricity and plumbed in facilities plus stunning views overlooking Underbarrow and further to Scout Scar.

Situated within the Lake District National Park, High Gregg Hall Farm in Underbarrow is just 15-minutes drive from Windermere and 10-minutes from Kendal. A 5-minute walk away is the popular Black Labrador Pub, which offers fantastic food and a great choice of ales.

The 1-bedroom Glamping Pod is a stunning option for a relaxing or perhaps a romantic getaway from the busy town or city life. After a day out exploring the Lake District of walking on the fells, return to relax on the patio with a glass of wine, or perhaps a BBQ. The Shearing Shed has been expertly-built to provide high-quality furnishings and fittings that will provide for a fantastic stay.
Accommodation Summary

Double Bed with fabulously comfy pillows, shelf-storage and USB sockets for charging devices.
Sitting area with L-shaped sofa, one of which lifts for additional storage, and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with FreeSat.
Dining area for two.
Kitchen area with, Belfast-sink and mains water, 2-ring induction hob, microwave, Nespresso Coffee Machine, kettle, toaster and a fridge with freezer compartment.
Bathroom with basin and vanity cupboards, toilet, heated towel rail and a shower cubicle.

Things To Note

The rental price includes bed linen, towels and robes as well a complimentary tea, coffee, coffee pods, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Short-breaks are available throughout the year, subject to a minimum of a two-night stay.
A travel cot can be provided if required.
One well-behaved dog is welcome for an additional cost of £10.00 per stay. Additional dogs by arrangement.
Currently, there is no Wifi, but this will be installed soon. there is good 4G mobile signal.

“My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights and had a lovely stay. A welcome pack was provided containing basics and treats for our stay and received a friendly welcome on arrival. The file containing local information and maps of car parks, tourist attractions, drives etc was a lovely touch. The hot tub was perfect and plenty of logs were provided for us for the fire pit and hot tub fire. We throughly enjoyed our stay and felt extremely welcomed. We would highly recommend The Shearing Shed for a Lake District stay.”

“We stayed at the shearing shed for 3 nights. The pod was beautiful in a very scenic and peaceful location. The owner was kind and very helpful about everything. Our hot tub was preheated for us each day by the lovely owner, so that it was ready for us to use. We were given a wonderful gift/welcome pack of snacks, milk, bread etc, and we were also given marshmallows and a box of firewood to use. Beautiful stay and an aesthetic and cosy interior, would absolutely recommend and come back again. !! :)”

“Great facilities and we were really pleased with the goodies left! Hot tub was heated up when we got there and the next day and there was lots of wood available to heat up again if needed. The cooking facilities were also great as well as the games they had to. Will definitely be back!”

“Gorgeous pod! Stayed here for two nights and we loved it! Clean & cosy, rly appreciated the snacks, milk & bread they left us. Hot tub was heated up for us everytime we used it, was lovely to go in on a night in the quiet and dark. Fab walks near by - we did a deer walk by a river would rly recommend! Not a far drive from Windermere where there is loads of cafes, bars & shops, and you can have a little walk by the big lake. Would defo stay here again, had everything we needed! Thankyou so much!”

“Thought I would drop an email just to stay how much of a wonderful stay we had this weekend. The Shearing Shed was perfect and I wouldn't change anything! Thanks so much to the owners for organising a little gift for my boyfriend for his birthday - such a lovely touch. Outside area was spacious and perfect for a chill evening with the fire going. We are definitely going to book again and stay a little longer next time.”
