Perched on the hillside of a working farm, Herdsman Hut is a new and modern Glamping Pod complete with underfloor heating, mains electricity and plumbed in facilities plus stunning views overlooking Underbarrow and further to Scout Scar.

Situated within the Lake District National Park, High Gregg Hall Farm in Underbarrow is just 15-minutes drive from Windermere and 10-minutes from Kendal. A 5-minute walk away is the popular Black Labrador Pub, which offers fantastic food and a great choice of ales.

The 1-bedroom Glamping Pod is a stunning option for a relaxing or perhaps a romantic getaway from the busy town or city life. After a day out exploring the Lake District of walking on the fells, return to relax on the patio with a glass of wine, or perhaps a BBQ. The Herdsman Hut has been expertly-built to provide high-quality furnishings and fittings that will provide for a fantastic stay.
Accommodation Summary

Double Bed with fabulously comfy pillows, shelf-storage and USB sockets for charging devices.
Sitting area with L-shaped sofa, one of which lifts for additional storage, and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with FreeSat.
Dining area for two.
Kitchen area with, Belfast-sink and mains water, 2-ring induction hob, microwave, Nespresso Coffee Machine, kettle, toaster and a fridge with freezer compartment.
Bathroom with basin and vanity cupboards, toilet, heated towel rail and a shower cubicle.

Things To Note

The rental price includes bed linen, towels and robes as well a complimentary tea, coffee, coffee pods, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Short-breaks are available throughout the year, subject to a minimum of a two-night stay.
A travel cot can be provided if required.
One well-behaved dog is welcome for an additional cost of £10.00 per stay. Additional dogs by arrangement.
Currently, there is no Wifi, but this will be installed soon. there is good 4G mobile signal.

“The Herdsman Hut was fantastic! Very well maintained by Jane with loads of added extras that you need to start your holiday. The pod is set in such peaceful surroundings and the outside space is so good with plenty of seating, a log burner and hottub (which was all set up for our arrival) We honestly could not have asked for more other than wanting to stay longer!”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We received a really warm welcome from Jane. The Glamping pod was immaculate, loads of lovely added extras and the outside space was fantastic with the luxury of a wood fired hottub. The surrounding area was so peaceful but in walking distance to a lovely pub and driving distance to Windermere and the surrounding area. We would come back in a heartbeat!”

“We had an amazing stay at the Herdsman hut. We were welcomed shortly after arrival but from then on were left to enjoy our stay, however still easy to contact if we needed via mobile. I had informed the host that it was our wedding anniversary and they went all out to decorate the hut with balloons, it was beautiful. The hut was beautiful, cosy and clean and surprisingly spacious. The views from the hut were stunning and it felt very private, particularly the hot tub area. Everything we needed was provided and the hot tub was kept constantly warm for us. There were lots of nice walks nearby and the provided guestbook had lots of recommendations too. Thank you for making our stay so special.”

“Thank you so much for a wonderful stay...such a peaceful location to help us relax on holiday and the perfect accommodation in the Herdsman Hut. We loved the underfloor heating that made it super cosy, and the little essentials packages that were left for us were perfect! We will definitely be coming back soon, so get that hot tub fired up again!”

“Lovely pod, very clean and great rural setting. Owners very helpful, and really nice touch’s such as coffee pods, milk, bread and treats. Hot tub is ready for use and wood available for fire pit. A small fence around pod would provide a little more privacy.”
