About this Apartment
No 1, Yard 18 is situated in the historic part of Kendal known as Old Kirkland, or simply Kirkland for short. Initially, a 3-floor home which was subdivided many years ago to create three individual apartments. Kendal is renowned for its Yards and Yard 18, off Chapel Lane, was once lined with stone cottages which surrounded the Wesleyan chapel, built 1872. Sadly many of the stone cottages have been demolished to make way for more modern housing and the chapel now serves as apartments. This apartment is popular for guests visiting the Kendal Mountain Film Festival.
Locally to Kirkland, and just across the road from the apartment is Abbot Hall Park, Kendal Parish Church and Abbot Hall Art Gallery. You are also a short stroll from the Brewery Arts Centre, with its cinema and theatre and of course the many bars and restaurants which line the main road through Kendal. A small convenience store is just 1-minute walk away.
