Seago Extract-It 6 Litre Oil Extractor Reviews

4 Rating 10 Reviews
Read Force 4 Chandlery Reviews

Extract-It 6Ltr Oil Extractor Vacuum Pump - A very clever vacuum pump which can be used to change oil with no fuss or mess on boats, cars, motorbikes & anything that has an engine. Between 10 to 20 strokes of the pump creates a powerful vacuum, which can then suck out the dirty engine oil (or any other liquid from inaccesible areas such as the bilges). The dirty oil is sealed inside the tough durable container and a funnel is supplied for mess free emptying. Because the pump unit only creates a vacuum and no oil passes through it it does not need much cleaning. Features: Capacity: 6 Litres Removable pump for easy storage Easy to read measurements Supplied with 2m of 6mm I.D. hose

Very useful, works as expected. The supplied pipes are not super quality and can be hard to force on to some of the things I use them on. Given time I'm sure I'll build up a repository of short bits of hose of different sizes suitable for different purposes. Despite this I have successfully drained my inboard engine's sump and coolant with very little mess.

Does what it says on the box, cheap alternative to more expensive types.

This was rubbish. I drove 150 miles to the boat tooled up to change oil, filters, impeller etc. The pump just doesn’t create any vacuum. I tried greasing every seal, still no joy…no sign of oil in the tube even with vigorous pumping. After a frustrating and sweaty hour of trying I went to the local chandlers and parted with £80 for a PELA extractor. Worked like a dream. The moral (which I always forget when I see a ‘bargain’) is: there’s a reason things are cheap.

Good clean extractor of engine oil. Just takes quite a while with old viscous oil so patience is needed as it syphons through. Don’t expect it to act fast.

Simple and effective, works as advertised. I used this to extract the oil from my saildrive while afloat, allowing a saildrive oil change while afloat.

Takes a little figuring out, but why didn't I get one of these sooner! Mess free, quick and easy. Used it once so too soon to make any comment on quality but seems sturdy enough.
