About Coffee Hit Ltd:

I started Coffee Hit in 2008, when I was always buying cool coffee gear from USA and Australia as it was not availble in the UK. I wanted great coffee for my customers and at home!
I wanted to help cafes and people make great coffee at home. I wanted to show people it didnt need to be expensive and great coffee can be fun and simple.

But if your like me you like to geek out a bit and we also have some really cool coffee brewing gear for my fellow coffee geeks.

We have the solutions for you to make great coffee at home or in the cafe.

Enjoy!

Have been looking for an entry level grinder for my V60 for a year. In terms of the service from Coffee Hit, it is a great deal and arrived on time safely. The machine did not disappoint with its intuitive design and consistent performance, though installation of the gasket takes a bit of patience and a pair of good hands. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to enter the world of pour over coffee.

Having never had a burr grinder, all I can say is it works, assembly was pretty straight forwards, the guide to what setting for different brewing types was invaluable. Only down side is the lid of the hopper works its way loose, probably could be fixed with a layer of thin tape.

Hi Sonata, Thank you for your review of the Baratza Encore. Please let us know if your are having any issues or need any help with getting the best out of your grinder. We would love to help. Many Thanks John Smith Baratza Manager.
This grinder works with fairly decent uniformity - consistent grind size (grinding for pour over) and is pretty easy to use. Changing grind settings is simple, and I quite like the number of options available. The only issue with this grinder, which seems to be very common, is the mess it makes. Sometimes it seems to spill chaff in front of the grounds container, but it’s an easy mess to clean up. Usually shows after 3-4 uses. But a great piece of kit. Love it.

Was very excited to finally receive my machine. It isn’t a modern design by any stretch I.e. looks a little dated next to everything else in the kitchen. Using it is a doddle - only downside for me is that it is a little louder than I expected. The grind size setting mechanism of turning the hopper left or right? Reassuringly firm so your grind setting won’t move accidentally or with momentum / pressure of grinding.

Great grinder, very consistent and good range of coarseness to choose from. Only down side that I see is that it can be messy. After grinding, some of 'skin' of the beans get stuck in the container, so whenever you pull out the container they fall everywhere and causes a bit of a mess. Just needs a bit of care.

I know a lot of people say the Baratza Encore grinder isn't specifically designed for producing the perfect espresso shot, which is fair. But for beginners it's great value for money for an entry level automated grinder. I am able to get a good espresso shot using a Delonghi dedica EC685 with an unofficial non-pressurized portafilter basket, using grind settings between 3-5 and altering tamping pressure, depending on coffee beans used etc

Why did I not get one months ago? I was grinding my beans manually which first thing in the morning is no fun! The Encore is perfect. You can calibrate your grinds and be consistent about it. Some reviews muttered about noise - it's not excessive at all. The tall grounds tray (not sure of the jargon here) is not the most 'pourable' but actually, you get used to that. No need to spend more. Have yet to clean it but the brush looks like it means business! Recommend
