About Coffee Hit Ltd:

I started Coffee Hit in 2008, when I was always buying cool coffee gear from USA and Australia as it was not availble in the UK. I wanted great coffee for my customers and at home!
I wanted to help cafes and people make great coffee at home. I wanted to show people it didnt need to be expensive and great coffee can be fun and simple.

But if your like me you like to geek out a bit and we also have some really cool coffee brewing gear for my fellow coffee geeks.

We have the solutions for you to make great coffee at home or in the cafe.

Enjoy!

Really pleased with this grinder. It's the first I've had that can grind finely and evenly enough for my espresso. In fact, it can go much finer than I need. Slight issues with static, but not too bad.

I’ve had a Niche Zero in the past so I have experienced what it’s like to have a top end grinder. The ESP is not an absolute top end grinder with regards to grind consistency, work flow and overall performance. HOWEVER, for the price, this is actually a very good grinder that punches above its weight. There are 20 grind settings dedicated to espresso. You may not have the micro adjustments required by a coffee expert but there’s enough here to pair this grinder up with something like a Sage Bambino. I’ve been surprised and impressed by the ESP. It’s quick to grind, has a handy dosing cup and the grind quality is not bad at all. Taking the grinder apart to clean is a little fiddly, there can be some static and grind retention but these are acceptable annoyances for a cheap grinder. At this price point, I think this is best espresso grinder you can get at this moment in time.

Excellent grinder and a huge step up from my Delonghi KG79. Good range of settings with little retention that produces lovely coffee paired with my Delonghi Dedica. Only complaint is selecting grind size can be tricky but still a great product. Very happy with this as my first proper electric espresso capable grinder

Bought as an upgrade to the Encore. Great improvement on the original model. Burrs much easier to clean. Espresso settings give a better range of adjustments for a variety of roasts.

I preordered this after seeing many glowing reviews from YouTubers. I've had it a month now and I don't think it's a bad grinder exactly, but you should temper your expectations. From the factory I had to add a shim to be able to go fine enough for the first set of beans I tried to use with it, a little bit surprising but not a deal breaker. Two sets of beans later and the finest setting wasn't fine enough for an 18g dose in a 58mm portafilter while using a puck screen, so a second shim needed. The hopper has a wobble to it that makes me nervous it's going to change settings on its own and I have seen others online say this has happened to them. I wanted to use it as a single dose grinder, but has slight issue with retention that I solved using a mini plunger (intended for sinks) and rocking the grinder in some cases. This just doesn't feel great as a workflow. I noticed issues with static so started RDT'ing but this just excerbated the retention issue to the point of 0.5g remaining in the grinder regardless of whether I bellowed or not. So I ended up taking it apart to clean it out and found a coffee grind paste had formed between the burrs. So expect to regularly clean this. I have had some delicious shots with this grinder, but you really really have to work with it to get there. It's a budget friendly grinder so don't expect it to pair well with a high end machine, I was a bit naive in hoping that it would work well for my needs. After 28 days of battling with it I spoke to coffeehit and they offered to take it in under warranty and test for faults which if found they would send a replacement unit. But I don't believe it to be faulty, I think this is just what you get at £200. I'll be using it for filter coffee going forwards and replacing it with a Niche Duo for espresso.
