Not too happy with this serum, it has a very rich almost oily consistency (if anyone describes it as lightweight, they must be talking about a different product). It also does not combine well with other products and seems to irritate my skin after prolonged or frequent use. But most puzzlingly, it turned to jelly when the bottle got to half way full. Went in the bin this morning.

Hi Ally, Thank you for your honest feedback. We're so sorry to hear the Glow-C Serum didn't work out and that the texture turned to jelly that definitely shouldn't happen! High-concentration Vitamin C can sometimes feel rich or cause irritation, but the texture change sounds like unexpected oxidation. We have passed your comments directly to our product and quality control teams so they can look into this batch and prevent it from happening again. Thank you for helping us improve, and we hope you have a much better experience with the rest of your routine. Thanks Facetheory Team

If you have sensitive skin beware this serum maybe too strong for you. I introduced the serum just a couple of days a week to start with then slowly built it up to every morning only using two drops of the serum, every thing seemed fine but after a few weeks my skin started to burn with red sore patches. I also had done the same routine with the lowest dose Retinol serum at the same time maybe too much. I stopped using both the serums and after a couple of days my skin settled down with the help from the Ectoin barrier build milk. I decided to try applying the vitamin C serum only but my skin reacted again and now I have had to stop using most of my Facetheory products except the Ectoin because they contain vitamin C until my skin calms down again. In future I will ask for advice from Facetheory about adding any of there products to my routine.

Hi Sara, I’m sorry to hear your skin reacted. It sounds like the combination and dosing may have been too strong for you. Stopping the serums and giving your skin time to settle was a sensible step. If you reintroduce vitamin C or retinol later, a very gradual patch test and starting at a lower frequency/concentration is advised, and you might want to avoid using both at the same time. If you’d like, we can share guidance on alternatives or assist you with support. Thanks for letting us know and for helping us improve. Thanks Facetheory Team

I'm just finishing my first bottle of this, in addition to a daily SPF, moisturiser and retinal. I went for a facial last week and was told she wasn't sure what to do for me as my skin is excellent! Highly recommended

No reaction if I use it on and off but when I started using it consistently after a week my skin started burning, got red patches, itchy so I had to stop. I tried to start again after it calmed down but the same thing happened. First time I’ve experienced this. Not even retinol does this to my skin. It’s such a pity as once off it really does give a glow.

Hi Yvette, We’re really sorry to hear about the burning, redness, and itching you experienced after using Glow-C Vitamin C 20% Serum consistently. That’s not the reaction we’d want for you, and we understand how disappointing this is since it can give that glow when it works for others. Please discontinue use and, if you can, patch test a small area before trying any new product. If you’d like, we can review alternative vitamin C formulations with a lower concentration or different texture that might be gentler on your skin. If the irritation persists or you’d like personalized guidance, please reach out to our support team with (an approximate date of use and any other products used that day) so we can assist promptly. Thank you for sharing your experience—your feedback helps us improve. Thanks, Facetheory Team

Hi there, Thank you for the review! We’re glad you like the Glow-C Vitamin C 20% Serum. If you find it a little sticky, try using a thinner layer and allowing it to fully absorb before applying other products. Thanks Team Facetheory

Love this serum. Have tried many others and this is the best for evening out skin tone and I love that it’s slightly oily as I have dry skin.
