“The serum for me personally made my skin burn. I tried it a couple of times but in the end needed to wash it off due to the burning sensation which lasted a long time. I am probably allergic to some of the ingredients.”

“I'm a pharmacist and medical writer so I always research my skincare ingredients. I'm also going through IVF so I'm very restricted in terms of what I can use to combat temperamental, blemish-prone, hyperpigmentation-prone skin these days. Azelaic acid is something that you can use - although for anyone else experiencing similar issues, or currently pregnant or breastfeeding, please speak to your doctor to let them know. I have. I was stunned that after years of using glycolic acid (up to 15%), this serum cleared my skin in less than 2 weeks. It's too early to tell if it will help the pre-existing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (thank you breakouts) but overall, my complexion is much brighter, far less oily and smoother. I wake up every day without a claggy, greasy complexion! To treat acne/hyperpigmentation, azelaic acid preparations need to be between 15-30%. At 30%, you need a prescription. This is the only over-the-counter azeliac acid serum I've found that uses the recommended minimum concentration. I tried another serum years ago at 10% and it did absolutely nothing for me. I also use the Porebright pro serum (the 20% niacinamide) with this, both twice daily and it's so nice to feel like my skin is behaving a little better, in spite of all of the hormonal upheaval and stress. “Really great product has helped to smooth out my skin and remove any lumps I will definately keep using this, However has not yet improved any redness from my rosecea, maybe after a few more weeks of use it will.”
