“Having booked for 3.15 we arrived to be told they didn't have our booking. They made up a table and 15 minutes later we were seated and ready to order. The waitress came over and said she would bring some water and I asked for two glasses of wine. Half an hour later we finally got our drinks. We ordered food and eventually we got our dinner. By this time we had been waiting an hour. The beef was cold and Yorkshire pudding solid and my husbands chicken was lukewarm. We did not have any veg so I asked the waitress if their was veg with the meat and she said oh yes you should have a side dish and she brought it to us. The wine was very nice. I asked for dessert and ten minutes later it arrived. Overall the experience was poor and the manager did see this so the wine was complimentary and he apologised most profusely. Needless to say we won't be back.”

“Lovely surroundings but staff were very slow. Chefs table was a bit of a dissapointment with extremely hard bread which was bascally uneatable and the same applied to the salad (new) potatoes. The maim lunch itself was ok but the roast potatoes would have benefited from another 20 minutes or so in the oven. The little pot of gravy supplied for two people was basically enough for only one. It's fair to say that we were a little disapointed and would be reluctant to recommend the Sunday Lunch at the Malmaison.”
