“Our first impressions of this hotel were that it was a bit tired (needed painting and new carpets in some corridors) and needed some attention. We soon learned that the new owners are investing heavily in the extensive property and key areas have already benefitted. A new roof and windows have been provided. And other renovation work to rooms is either ongoing or planned. Regardless of the above we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well run and very comfortable hotel and leisure centre. The food and service were amongst the best as were the staff who delivered them. The leisure centre would put a lot of the big boys to shame with well organised and comfortable cafe, changing and exercise facilities. The unique character of the hotel is best displayed in the whisky vault, the luxurious lounge or the cosy dining room. The added attraction is one of the loveliest villages in a very scenic but accessible part of Scotland. We would definitely go back and enjoy another restful break here.”

“Very happy with our stay! The last couple of times we’ve been to the Buchanan Arms the place was dead, food either really bad or not on offer. This time it was buzzing, food great (dinner and breakfast). Clean and comfy beds. I’m sure we’ll be back!”
