“Stayed 1 night with my elderly mother and was allocated a twin room which was clean and simply decorated. The radiators in the room and en-suite bathroom were not working and the room was very cold. Two electric fan heaters were provided but unfortunately the cable did not extend far enough to allow any heat to flow into the bathroom, so found it very cold whilst using the bathroom. On a positive note, the shower was powerful and there was plenty of hot water. Beds were comfortable. Dinner was tasty and the portions were good. The cooked breakfast buffet was cold, this might have been because we were the first to enter the dining room at 8.30am and the food had possibly been sitting there for some time. The dining area began to fill with guests and fresh food was brought from the kitchen but it was too late for us as we had already selected our cooked breakfast items which were cold and therefore not very appetising. On a positive note, there was a good selection of breakfast items, hot and cold selections. Did not use the leisure facilities so cannot comment on them. The hotel is looking rather tired and is in much need of redecoration. Overall, our stay was okay. We were unlucky with our room and the timing of our breakfast but for £99 it was value for money.”

“The room (5) was very dated and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Dust was everywhere in the room so clearly hadn’t been wiped down prior to us arriving. Although the food was delicious, I was served the main dish before even my starter was brought to the table. My husband asked for another drink at the main and after having dessert the drink still hadn’t arrived. The spa, needs upgrading, more so the changing rooms. The steam room and sauna were fine though the jacuzzi was really powerful and couldn’t hold conversation without the water going in mouth. That being said, the receptionist staff were really lovely and friendly as were the other staff we had met including the man in the spa who was really helpful. I wouldn’t have been very happy had I paid the full cost for it all. At £99 it’s manageable although still wasn’t overly happy.”

“Hotel rather old and outdated and in serious need of an update. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic (no USB sockets with basic TV...no freeview/Netflix) and housekeeping require a bit of training on use of hoover. Dining was OK but again some staff lacked training (some requests were forgotten or brought late or we were asked about desert before even receiving mains) food however was cooked and presented well. We did not use leisure facilities so cannot comment.”

“Had a overnight stay with hubby for his birthday. Hotel was fantastic will defo go back. Room was spotless, staff very helpful,and food was amazing”

“Had a nice stay but spent three days phoning to try to get booked. This was extrmely stressful. I feel they need more receptionists on the desk as there seems to be too much for them to cope with.”
