“We needed up in ibiza had to pay a extra £150 each to go! The poeple who sort it out are no help and I wouldn't recommend at all tbh your better off booking a little 3 day get away theres more hiden costs then it lets on! Not just £99 at all”

“Been offered a 2 night stay and told I need to pay an extra £120 ! When I rejected this offer as I thought this was not acceptable, I was told they can’t find anything without paying an additional amount of money, so would phone me back at a later date (I’m still waiting). You will be dealing with an overseas call center so I hope you feel confident giving them your bank details when you have to pay more. Total con, it’s awful”

“Absolute scam, paid for the holiday and then when it came to booking the 3rd party involved wanted to change dates for more money, change flights for more money and wanted to charge more from flying from the north. After several phone calls of upselling attempts and me saying I just want what I paid for nothing got booked and I will never ever use Wowcher or mystery holiday again.”

“Paid for voucher didn't get my break. When they phoned to book they told me my trip I won wasn't available and wanted me too pay extra to go elsewhere. When I asked for a refund was told one couldn't be given. So now I've no holiday and no refund. Stay well clear”

“An absolute con. Do you not buy these vouchers. You get a location and then when you book it the location isn’t available unless you pay excess (quoted £120 per person). Oh and the locations they offer are always at terrible times of the year - a beach break in Northern Spain in November??”

“Absolutely terrible! I picked to fly from the midlands and when I won my holiday they said I could only fly from the midlands if I paid an extra fee. I said okay so where can I fly from with it being included in the price they said well normally in London but there are no flights from there. I asked for a refund and I was told that it’s non refundable once you find out your destination. I was happy with the destination but not happy to have to pay a small fortune when your desired air port is where I thought you’d be flying from in the price! AVOID”

“A Balanced Review I can't lie, when I received the phone call to reveal our location I was pretty disappointed with the location we got assigned and the duration of our stay. Based on the title of the item "Mystery Holiday™: Maldives, Barbados, Thailand, Dubai, New York, Las Vegas, Bali, Disneyland Paris & More" I was definitely expecting somewhere more far fetched and exotic. However, we received a 2 night stay in Europe, somewhere I had been before and probably could have booked cheaper than doing it this way. I feel the title was a misleading though the reality is covered in the "& More" of the title. At an additional cost I was able to choose a more suitable location for 3 nights. Arriving at our accomodate we were quickly reminded that 4 star in another country isn't the same as 4 star in the UK. Having lived in East Africa for a few years I should have remembered that. We did have a problem with the bed having not been changed after the last guests - that was pretty yuck as someone elses hair and dirt was in the bed. Off course we asked the staff to sort the issue and they did. Other than that, once we had fresh bedding and settled in we had a fabulous time. It was great to get away, wonderful even to go abroad again as we hadn't done much traveling since covid so it was nice to get out there again and enjoy sun, sand, beach and a different culture and food for a few days. The apartment we stayed in was very basic and the towels were the size of a postage stamp, but it was all we needed, a place to sleep when we got back at night. I'm not sure I would do the Mystery Holiday again, but it was an ok thing to do and it's revitalised my want to travel. Going forward I'm likely to book everything myself, but if you are not a seasoned traveller and just want to give it a go then go for it.”
