“Staff were great but unfortunately the clotted cream was off and also the cream in the dessert pots were off so they were inedible . At first we were told we would be given some fresh cream but this never happened .We were then given butter and jam for the scones. Very disappointing . We were all offered a free drink but the tea was spoilt by the cream being off . There were 8 of us celebrating what would have been my late mums 90th birthday. I had taken her there several times for afternoon teas so thought it would be nice for all the family to go together but unfortunately that wasn’t the case”

“Lovely Hotel really lovely ambiance, not over busy. The staff are very attentive lovely food nice choice of sandwiches and cakes plenty of tea and coffee.”

“Afternoon tea was ok . It was a birthday treat for my sister accompanied by my 2 nieces. When asked what we would like to drink we ordered 2 flat white coffees 1 latte and 1 black coffee. After eating the afternoon tea we were asked if we would like anything else so I ordered 1 flat white coffee and my niece a fruit tea. When we were ready to leave we said goodbye to the staff and left. I only live a ten minute drive away and when I got home had a phone call from the Orchid Hotel asking me for £16 for the specialty drinks we had. I was shocked and asked why we weren't told this when we ordered or before we left. He apologised and said they had forgotten. I paid the extra money but I think they should make people aware of this instead of taking it for granted that people will pay . We won't be returning.”

“The afternoon tea was quite good, the gluten free sandwich bread could have been better and the scones, although warm were average quality. However given the Wowcher price we paid, the tea was well presented and the cake selection was good.”
