“MicroSet is the gentler of the two decal fixing chemicals which Microscale produce. It is excellent for seating transfers on less than perfectly flat or perfectly glossy surfaces without softening them so much that they become excessively vulnerable. It can be used as directed or a few drops can be used to release the decals from the backing. I use it for almost all decals I use. Its sibling MicroSol is a much scarier prospect to use as it softens the decal so much but is very useful where a decal has to be laid over a 3d surface - use as directed! Very useful products.”

“Lots of reviews of this.....and now I know why...previously used decal fix etc from Vallejo/humbrol....but this is fantastic when combined with the Sol....it has taken the pain out of my least favourite aspect of modelling.”

“An odd thing , some items that we use the most and take for granted do not ever get the reviews they deserve . A case in point here is the Micro set , gloss , matt , sol , etc., that I use all the time ; I tried them when they first came out and have seldom since used other products which claim the same properties . So , what's to say ? Well , in a nutshell , the products do what it says on the lid , but beware , the instructions are there for good reason . You can get away with a slight diversion from the instructions , but I seldom do , mainly because it works as advertised . Shelf life I cannot comment on because I use the stuff so much . One tip for using the Micro products , use the best softest brush you can afford and keep it clean , long bristles work the best . What prompted this review ? I just bought a load more , because I don't want to run out of what I consider an essential tool for a good finish to a model .”
