“This water butt had a manufacturing fault and the tap could not be secured to the water butt without considerable leakage. A complaint has been raised with Water Butts direct and we are awaiting a reply.”

“Water butt was delivered eventually after I phoned the helpline to find out delivery date. Looked good but when I tried to fit the plastic nut on the spigot on the inside of the spigot hole, there was so much surplus plastic still sticking out irregularly from the inside edge that it was very hard to tighten it. When I partially filled the butt, the washer on the outside of the spigot began to drip. After contacting the helpline for advice, I had to trim as much surplus plastice from the inside of the hole with a Stanley knife and then carefully sand it down until it was as smooth and regular as possible. This time the plastic nut made a good tight fit, and after the butt filled there is no more dripping. However, being 80, I was very disappointed in the amount of extra physical work necessary to make it serviceable.”
