Designed to redirect rainwater directly into your barrel, this diverter helps reduce mains water use while preventing water butt overflow during heavy rainfall. Who This Product Is For Ideal for homeowners, gardeners and eco conscious households looking to collect rainwater efficiently for garden irrigation, vegetable beds, lawns and outdoor cleaning, especially during dry summer months or hosepipe restrictions. How It Works The diverter is installed by cutting a short section from your plastic downpipe and inserting the unit. Rainwater is channelled through the supplied flexible hose into your water butt. Once the barrel reaches capacity, excess water automatically continues down the downpipe as normal. Downpipe Compatibility Compatible with most standard plastic downpipes including: Round: 63 mm, 68 mm, 80 mm and 100 mm Square: 61 mm and 65 mm Not suitable for cast iron downpipes. Flexible Hose Specifications Length: 0.5 metre (50 cm) Diameter: 25 mm The flexible hose allows convenient positioning of your water butt. Please measure the distance between your downpipe and water butt location before installation, as hoses cannot be joined together. Some water butts may require a small hole to be drilled to attach the hose, which is straightforward to complete. “The Harcostar rain diverter is a solid plastic robust piece of kit that can be opened to view and clear any blockages washed in from the downpipe. You need to be accurate in fitting the diverted for the rain water to enter and escape the water butt. When fitting of the diverter movement of downpipe up and down is required so be aware to unclipped the downpipe a metre or two around the place the diverter is required.”
