The longer extension hose was necessary because of the gas metre next to the drain pipe. Here is my Review of the Cloudburst 200 litre and Diverter Kit. Cloudburst 200-Litre Waterbutt & Diverter Kit Review by Robert Boraker Two Cloudburst 200-litre waterbutts were purchased at £40.00 each. Compared to the Slimline 100 litre we purchased first, the Cloudburst has double the capacity and cost ten pounds less. I thought that was good value. It wasn’t easy to set up, but here are some improvements for the instructions: Drilling a hole with a 25mm drill for the Diverter didn’t work. The Diverter connector is larger than that. The solution is to remove what remains of the plug. In any case, it has to be removed in order for the connector to fit flush on the inside wall. When I did the second waterbutt, I just pushed out the plug from the inside. A hammer could be used if necessary. The Diverter has a clever design that catches the water coming down on the sides of the drain pipe. The Cloudburst version eliminates the square cover that is used in other versions. But what happens to the water that goes down the centre of the drain pipe? It will go straight into the drainage system. To catch that rain water, here is a simple solution: Use a plastic pit ball that is 5.5cm in diameter. That precise measurement is important for efficiency. Place the pit ball on top of the Diverter to act as a valve to block the centre. All the rain water will then go into the waterbutt until it fills up and overflows. The excess water will lift the ball to allow the excess water to enter the drainage system. After the recent rainfalls in Hertfordshire, one 200-litre waterbutt is now full. Hopefully, the winter rains will fill the other waterbutt in preparation for next summer.

I bought 2m of Extension Hose to enable me to put the water butts around a corner of the house away from the fall pipe. It worked perfectly. The service from Water Butts Direct was quick and efficient

It is perfect. Just exactly like the simple and short, extension hose which came with my original water butt. This particular one in particular shows all the characteristics of something that works, as it should. No excuses.
