Filled with a suet-based fat mix which also includes seeds, Coconut Halves were the first product of this type to come onto the market many years ago, and well ahead of fat balls, blocks and pellets. In some ways, the early arrival of the Coconut Half product onto the market was ahead of its time, as its obvious use of a waste product – so the shell of a coconut – would now be seen as a very environmentally-friendly solution.

The birds most likely to feed on the calorie-rich suet-based fat mix are blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits, coal tits, nuthatches (if you’re lucky enough to have them in your area), starlings and great-spotted-woodpecker.

Our Coconut Halves come complete with a string already attached to them, so can be easily hung from a branch or from a bird feeder station.

Very good product, which did attract a lot of birds very quickly. It attracts tits, sparrows and robins, but the starlings and magpies also want a piece! I had a few coconuts stolen by a squirrel as well, so all around it is a very popular product with wildlife! The only downside is that the coconut fiber hoop breaks down very quickly, I have had to restring some of the halves myself as they had fallen on the ground.

This product is very good and attracts most common birds like the tits, blackbirds and sparrows. I mount one of the halves onto a miniature gantry at ground level and watch the birds as they peck at the 'swinging' seeds inside - strangely, I am glad to say, the pigeons show no interest. Give them a try - you'll find it worth it.

Too many small coconuts in this batch, my previous order (10) were all medium coconut halves, hence I ordered 30.

The birds come flocking for these. Definitely their favourite.
