Coconut Halves Reviews

Filled with a suet-based fat mix which also includes seeds, Coconut Halves were the first product of this type to come onto the market many years ago, and well ahead of fat balls, blocks and pellets. In some ways, the early arrival of the Coconut Half product onto the market was ahead of its time, as its obvious use of a waste product – so the shell of a coconut – would now be seen as a very environmentally-friendly solution.

The birds most likely to feed on the calorie-rich suet-based fat mix are blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits, coal tits, nuthatches (if you’re lucky enough to have them in your area), starlings and great-spotted-woodpecker.

Our Coconut Halves come complete with a string already attached to them, so can be easily hung from a branch or from a bird feeder station.

The birds love these. So much so that I have had to hide some of them in dense shrubs so the little ones can feed without the attention of the bigger birds. You can always refill the coconut shells with your own mix if you want. Great product.

The birds love these, and it's fascinating to watch them tucking in - think I'll have to put in a standing order!

I love that I don’t need a bird feeder! Having really just had pigeons and the odd blackbird to feed on the previous suet balls I’d put out, I am now seeing blue tits and many other small birds, they clearly love them!

Only 3 stars for the following reason. The string loops on the coconut shells were not big enough to hang up on the trees as I normally do. I had to attach a string loop to the original loop before I could use them . The birds love them.

Coconut halves we’re fine, but disappointed with the packaging. Is really necessary to individually package each one in a plastic case, I thought the cardboard box was sufficient.
