“I used to bash some of my peanuts to offer to smaller birds on a ground table but chopped peanuts are so much easier ! This is especially important in nesting season when whole peanuts, if offered to nestlings by their parents, could choke them. Whole peanuts should always be served in metal mesh feeders, not plastic mesh as they can entangle bird's feet.”
