This is my first Shoei and it compares well with my AGV K6 in function and comfort. At 2.8 lbs with it's no-nonsense shape and minimal shell size it transcends the retro label. It's quality helmet that doesn't try and emulate MotoGP. What a concept, eh? Fit is good but I may purchase a slightly looser set of cheek pads. I wear ear plugs but the wind noise might be a little more than my AGV and Schuberth lids. Field of view is great and the visor works well and has good sealing. Ventilation is adequate but so far I've not worn it in 90+ degree weather. I chose the gloss grey and think that low key color is perfect for such an understated helmet.

Great looking lid, classic style and it looks stunning in the gloss grey design. It is a little bit noisy but in fairness I don't think it's a helmet most people would buy to do mega miles in. The air flow to the visor isn't great so it doe mist up a bit if you don't fit a pinloc, and the mechanism is a bit clunky but it looks good! I'm going to pair mine with a set of Google's to go for a more off road look and get rid of the visor issues, but over all really pleased with it

It's a great looking helmet, light and comfortable. Visor has 3 positions and it can sit in the middle so its not very smooth when you lift it up with one hand but I guess you can live with that. Also so far I find the lock on the visor a bit of a nuance but maybe that's me being old school. Kinda overpriced for what it offers me thinks...

Superb helmet with a great classic look about it. Fits me perfectly and is so comfortable to wear even on longer journeys in comparison to some other high end helmets. Will definitely consider Shoei for my next helmet purchase when required. Great price from Urban Rider too :)

This is an updated review after quite a few more rides. My initial impressions still hold with a few exceptions. Now that summer is here in Arizona I can say the ventilation is inadequate. The visor is very aggravating in that there are no partial opening detents and the latching mechanism is just plain annoying and frequently binds to the point of needing two hands to manipulate it. 15 minutes of careful work with a file were needed to allow the latch to work smoothly. After more miles in varying conditions I can say that even with quality earplugs the wind noise is much more problematic than I first noticed. Overall I'm disappointed with this helmet compared to my AGV K6 and I'll be selling it at a substantial loss.
