“The sign is nice however the back of the slate is uneven and the screws that are supplied are too short when putting on to a brick wall. Brick walls are naturally uneven and the screws supplied do not account for this or the uneven surface of the back of the slate, nor do they account for the thickness of the slate itself. I asked for longer screws and was told to go to a hardware store. Not the reply or service I was expecting so thought I would share so that others are prepared. Shame as the plaque itself if nice.”

Thank you for your feedback Marina. We’re pleased to hear that you’re happy with the sign itself. We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with the fixings. Our standard fixings are intended for installation into brick. As you had chosen to drill into the mortar, which sits further back from the face of the brick, we recommended sourcing longer screws to accommodate the additional distance. Longer screws suitable for mortar installation are not something we provide for this sign, as our standard fixings are supplied for installation into the brick itself. We appreciate your feedback and hope you’re able to get the sign securely installed. Many thanks, The UK Sign Shop Team
